Kabul hotel attack: Intercontinental under attack 'by at least four gunmen'
Kabul's Intercontinental hotel is under attack by at least four gunmen with a number of people taken hostage, according to local reports.
There was no immediate information on potential casualties and no group has yet claimed responsibility, but the attackers appear to have included suicide bombers, according to ministry spokesman Najib Danish who said the attack began around 9pm local time.
Afghan news agency TOLO reported that police sources confirmed that hostages had been taken.
Isis has carried out a series of attacks on the Afghan capital, while the Taliban and al-Qaeda factions continue to fight an Islamist insurgency across the country.
