Kabul Asks Ex-ANDSF Soldiers Studying in India to Return​

Afghanistan’s Ministry of Interior Affairs asked all military students who are in India and other countries to return to Afghanistan.

Abdul Nafi Takor, spokesman of the ministry, told TOLOnews that these students will be assigned to the country's security and defense institutions based on their expertise.

“Afghan soldiers in India are the assets of Afghanistan, we hope they return to the country; based on their expertise we will assign them to different security and defense institutions,” Takor said.

Meanwhile, officials of the Afghanistan embassy in India said that military students have not decided yet to return to the country due to security threats.

“These students are afraid of returning to Afghanistan, because they have no assurances about their future,” said Abdulhaq Azad, press director at the Afghanistan embassy in India.

But some military experts believe that for the return of soldiers from India, the Islamic Emirate should build trust.

“Most people think that these students who have studied in India are not committed to their country. This is not true, these are professional and patriotic people, trust should be built,” said Assadullah Nadim, a military expert.

More than 200 military students have completed their studies in India during the past eleven months, and since 2005, India has provided educational opportunities for hundreds of Afghan soldiers.

Sir I have similar thoughts. I was also thinking if it`s possible for the Indian Army to absorb these graduates into Indian Army and then use them in our West against us.

Unlikely, India has accepted the reality and is trying its best to form good relations with the Taliban. I think the Embassy still has money left over in its account and that seems to be enough for a skeleton crew to run the embassy until now, and maybe for another few years. Probably the same case in all other countries, Afghanistan isn't really in a situation to finance embassy operations with millions of people jobless and in need of food and medecine.

It's a giant *** embassy in one of the most high end areas. If used as airbnb, it could probably finance itself for eternity and still have profit left over.

What pain? We are not suffering millions of Afghan refugees trying to enter India. We are not facing terrorism from Afghanistan, we are not facing loss of tens of millions of dollars due to smuggling from Afghanistan, you guys are. A thread on this was created even today -

Yes, we did expect a shitshow in Kashmir initially, but until now, Taliban have been keeping their word and not interfering, they want to establish normal diplomatic and trade relations, we have nothing against them as long as that continues. We also expected them to destroy the $3 billion worth of dams, roads, schools, power projects etc that we built since 2001, but they haven't done that and instead, have asked us to invest more. That being said, even if they had destroyed it, 3 billion might be a lot for you, but its nothing for us. For now, there has been very little pain for India and Taliban rule is turning out to be kinda ok for us, though it is sadly turning out to be bad for the millions of afghan kids who are starving in winter and Afghan women who had perfectly fine jobs under previous regime but are no longer allowed to work.
