ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has submitted a list of 13 witnesses including careteker Pubjab Chief Minister Najam Sethi, former MQM leader Nabil Gabool and journalist Hamid Mir before the judicial inquiry commission to record their statements regarding the alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.

Through their counsel Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, the party on Tuesday submitted a four-page application listing the 13 witnesses, a copy of which is available with The Express Tribune.

In addition to the above mentioned names, the application also listed the Managing Directors of Printing Corporation of Pakistan Press Karachi, PCPP Press Lahore and Pakistan Security Printing Corporation Karachi, who held office at the time of acquisition and printing of ballot papers, as witnesses.

The list also contained the names of then chief secretary to the caretaker Punjab government Javed Iqbal, provincial Election Commissioners of Punjab and Sindh, then additional chief secretary to the caretaker setup in Punjab Rao Iftikhar, Head of FAFEN Muddassir Rizvi and chairman NADRA Usman Yousaf Mobeen.

“It would in the interest of justice that the statements of the said persons be recorded as prayed and that PTI be permitted to also propose questions which the commission may pose to these persons as witnesses”, the application reads.

It also claimed that the testimonies, statements and evidence of these persons has direct nexus with the three questions to be inquired into and determined by the commission, terming the examination necessary, appropriate and warranted.

The application further maintained that PTI has identified other officials and persons who are relevant as well as material that could be used as witnesses in the matter. This, it said, requires investigation by the commission to make the determinations pursuant to section 3 of the General Elections 2013 Inquiry Commission Ordinance 2015.

Meanwhile, PTI chairman Imran Khan, while speaking to the media after a meeting of the party on the matter in Islamabad, said he will himself appear before the judicial commission tomorrow to elaborate on poll rigging during the 2013 general elections.

It depends how they get questioned by the lawyer, and in my opinion its a pretty sharp move. Once the lawyer questions them, their statements will be part of the record. Later if evidence is produced that is counter to what these individuals recorded in their statements, they will be in deep trouble.

According to the sources the report pointed out systematic rigging in 15 constituencies and partial rigging in 6 constituencies.

The sources said that 8 candidates of ruling PML-N, 2 candidates of each PPP, PTI, and independent candidates, while one candidate of JUI-F were elected in the affected constituencies. -Samaa

You guys are still at it when the world moved on to 2015!!!!! The fact of the matter is, in Pakistan, there will always be corruption. So this rigging thing makes no sense as everyone knows it have happened in some shape. The question is, is it really supported by a massive system of anti-PTI people like the entire government, the election commission, etc?

I am 200% sure even if you open IK or Zardari or whoever else, there is rigging, even if they won. But to say that this is backed up by God, the angels, the government, the media, the ECP, the Supreme Court......is absurd.

IK should waste his time on better things that grow a country and bring a better life to its people. Its getting old. Poor baby!

Lol ... PTI was trying to rig NA-246 by polls :omghaha:

was Shethi really kicked out
I will like to see his face. I doubt if it will be ever smiling and mocking.

normally he is always smug whenever he talks about Pakistan and Pakistan army all he has is mockery and jokes since he got away with everything and made governor and Cricket chief despite being part of BLA back in the old days

one of the signs of end of days when corruption and shamelessness will be celebrated and the worse of the worse will be the leaders and they will be proud of their work and refuse to accept anything wrong with their attitude
look at the smug faced saad rafiqe for example. in any other western country the person will be discarded for ever from politics but he will be standing again and people with sapped minds will still vote for him
