The tweets are very confusing, they say they captured a JORDANIAN pilot operating a SYRIAN REGIME PLANE. SOmething is fishy.

My guess it was a mechanical failure. Hard to believe that MANPADS could shot down the F-16.


Jordan did not play any role in arming ISIS and could not play even if they wished since they dont border ISIS zones. Dont talk out of ur arse.

It is more than likely that it was a mechanical failure that is correct. And it is what I am welling to bet. ISIS is just claiming to have shot it down for propaganda.

ISIS is saying they used an Igla to shoot it down, too many stories but it doesn't make sense regardless.

Whenever a pilot goes on a mission they are briefed to a location where they should go to for a Search and Rescue mission. They are not instructed to go down in a haze of glory for our amusement, they are discouraged from doing so. And even if they are captured they are instructed to wait for rescue and not commit suicide no matter what.

SOP when dealing with humans. Need not be followed against IS subhumans.

Could be a lucky shot. In Past, Planes and choppers have been shot down by RPG's and Machine gun fire.


It looks improbable that a F-16 would fly against IS without proper technical evaluation and checks.

IS controlled area is highly sensitive and does not offer PoW protection to downed pilot , and missions are not so demanding that corners on technical front have to be cut.
