Amman April 5 ( Petra ) -- A Royal Air Force plane arrived in the Libyan city of Benghazi on Monday evening loaded with food and medical aid, a shipment ordered by His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces.
The aircraft unloaded a cargo of 10 tons of medicines, food and other relief aid in line with the Kingdom's commitment to Arab League and the international community resolutions to extend logistical and humanitarian aid to civilians suffering under an ongoing conflict between Libyan forces and rebels.
The desperately needed aid was welcome news for Libyans who gathered as the aircraft landed and officials praised "this generous gesture in such hard times for the Libyan people."
