Rosoboronexport is planning to propose joint and licensed production, and technology transfer with India at the DEFEXPO-2014, which opens in New Delhi tomorrow. “This cooperation is the main vector in the development of our relations,” Ivan Goncharenko, deputy general director of Rosoboronexport, who heads the company’s delegation to New Delhi, said.
Rosoboronexport is going hold talks on land armaments with Indian partners concerning current and future projects, including those relating to the modernization of the previously supplied equipment, including the BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, T-72 and T-90 tanks.
The company plans to discuss the progress of the tender for the supply of self-propelled artillery mounts, which involves the modernized 155-mm self-propelled howitzer Msta-S, which is currently being tested in India. The chassis of the howitzer has a high degree of component and unit commonality with the chassis of T-90 tank, the licensed production of which has already been mastered at the Indian Heavy Vehicles Factory in Avadi.
Rosoboronexport will also discuss the after-sales service of the INS Vikramaditya, Goncharenko said. Over 34 Russian companies will be represented by the Rosoboronexport delegation.
