Joining the tpp talks is important for Japan to deal with China, which has expanded its military and economic presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

Akihisa Nagashima, a special adviser to the prime minister, said in a speech on Nov. 1 about the impact of joining the tpp: "We need the proactive viewpoint that Japan and the United States will foster order in the Asia-Pacific region. It means the two countries need to establish strategic alliances, which will convince China the two countries are very tough rivals."

His remarks indicated that strengthening Japan's alliance with the United States through the TPP is essential to counter China.

China is reinforcing its hegemonic attitude in maritime affairs, as evidenced by ongoing territorial disputes in the South China Sea. Southeast Asian nations taking part in the tpp talks share an increasing wariness.

According to Foreign Ministry documents, TPP participants stressed the importance of the United States' participation.

Singapore has indicated China's influence should not be excessive and it is necessary to have the abiding commitment of the United States.

It is also confirmed that it is impossible for China to join TPP as China's entry will require approval from all existing member nations, which of course will not be given(Vietnam, US, Singapire, etc).

Neither Germany, Russia nor China have a colonial legacy and burden in Africa. In fact China has been doing extremly well in developing African countries. But I' sure the US and its lapdogs will do everything to hinder African developments and create chaos in order to plunder African resources.

My government knows that we are still an occupied country. We have to play the game well. The US is really and utterly upset about the pipeline under the East Sea/ Baltic Sea with Russia as our economy will be free from US lapdogs to choke us. I think you need to know more about my country than the few articles in the press. More and more people are really pi**ed at our CIA infiltrated media and start to voice against the demonisation of China. Too bad you don't understand one word German.

You talk as if China's interested in joining something like TPP. Rural area is an important power base for the communist party. In recent years there's major effort to reduce tax burden and eliminate poverty in the countryside which should be counted as among the greatest achievement of the Hu-Wen administration. Joining a free trade agreement that will open Chinese agriculture market to the U.S. is simply impossible when the swing of Chinese politics is toward the left wing.
