FUC KIN BSNL BROADBAND.

As for the Reservation- I think reservation should be given on economic status. Now they have given reservations in specialised courses too :woot:.admissions in specialised courses should be given on merit basis only and not based on caste as it needs the best of minds.yes i do understand the need to uplift some communities but that could also be done by financing for their education uptill 12th.
A friend of mine in engg college who belonged to SC and was from an upper middle class family got 41000 refunded from a total fee of 43000 and bought a bike on his own. .

This hartali siyasat is the bane of Indian society. From the Kashmir valley to the Telangana agitation or the Bharat Bandh to "fight" inflation.

Baat kare ki Hartal and Bandh. And if someone defies their "hartal" then out comes the stone pelting and shutter banging and goons running all over the place. When are people going to grow up and fight for rights in a civil manner?

The Sikh Jat consider themselves Brahmin of Sikhism. They have superiority complex vis-à-vis Sikhs of other castes. I have seen more casteism among Sikhs than Hindus in Canada.

Well, Brahmin and Kshatriya, if you go by the Aryan Varna society. :)

But you're right, Jatt Sikhs do have a superiority complex vis-a-vis other Sikh communities i.e. the businessmen Bhapas and the lower caste converts. Though this does seem like a caste system, I dont think it can be called one. Mainly because Jatts are a tribe/community and not included in any caste since they arrived much later in the Indian sub-continent after the Aryan Varna system had been established and they were never assigned a place in this system.

There are many reasons for such a complex and attittude amongst the Jatt Sikhs. Political, economic and historical reasons. Though none of the 10 Gurus were Jatt, the Jatts soon gained military and economic power in Punjab due to their numbers and the fact that they were peasants. Thus they were at the fore-front of a militarized Sikh society and as a result gave more sacrifices than other communities (per capita). If you Wiki Sikh history you'd see that the last 200-150 years have been filled with Jatt Sikhs leading armies, revolts. So were the Khalistani supporters and militants, Bhindrawale included. We can discuss more about this, but this thread may not be the right place.

There are Hindu and Sikh Jats in India while we have Muslim Jats in Pakistan. Nobody knows their backgrounds since caste is irrelevant in Pakistan. One Indian Punjab newspaper mentioned that the Pakistani Punjab Chief Minister is a Jat. That is how I knew about his background.

Instead in Pakistan we have tension between linguistic/ethnic groups about seats in educational institutions and government employment. We have a quota system (reservations in India) that takes into account the ethnic/linguistic and urban/rural backgrounds. The religious background come into play as 5% quota is for the religious minorities.

First of all...There is a difference b/w JATT and JAAT.
Jatt are the sikhs mainly belongs to Punjab, whereas Jaat is a community based in Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh.

Now...some friends have said Jaats in Haryana are very rich ones...Yup!! totally true!!! The reason is that they were used to be farmers in old days, but as sson as modernaization Hit Haryana(recently ranked no.1 state in development) and Mncs had purchased Land of farmers...while giving them a more than enough money like A person (in 2005) from Ghata village got Rs. 3.5 billion for his 35 acre of Land..Lol!! Even people from my village also became Millionaire much earlier in 90's by selling Land to Private builders and MNcs. Lol!!
Now, what happened, this excess of Money have created Problems..like..people became lazy, addicted to gambeling and drinking, their sons started purchasing new bikes and SUVs ,resulted in poor results in educational field..Now situation is mosltly new generation of Jaats are away from education ,which is creating trouble for them as they lacks of skill set ,which professional environment of employment Demands...But as I have said most of them, not all, some have utilised their money by re-investing it into again in real estate or in other kind of business.Still majority of them are rich in terms of wealth but poor in terms of competing for Jobs in highly professional environment..This is the major factor ,they are asking for Reservation...Because all of them have realized that soon, their money will be finished and they are not even capable to get a job of low level worker..

.
Dont know why Jats would need reservation. They are amongst the most prosperous communities in North India.

Who told you that poor are benefiting from reservation, its all the dominant caste other then brahmin/baniya/thakur who are enjoying the benefits of poor. Look at yadavs/jats in north India and Meenas in Rajasthan, thevers in tamilnadu etc.

They are same community and difference in pronouncing or spelling their name does not make any difference. The Jat people are a historical Indo-Aryan tribal group native to the Punjab region, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
