This is SAAR 6 or Israel navy. Even though it is just 1900 Ton ship.. yet it's weapons package is second to none. Why can't we atleast have a quad pack 16 cell Vls on 3300 ton Jinnah with 12-16 AShM ? Even if Jinnah doesn't have quad pack, comparing to Saar 6, it should atleast have a 32 cell VLS. We should had quad pack Vls on even Babur.

Israel can fit more weapons in its ships because its domestic industry knows how to make SAMs. We didn't invest in our R&D. We're stuck with imports, and even then, we can only get the things our suppliers can offer. We don't have access to the VLS that can let us pack more weapons into our ships.

Even with out quad-packing. Still don't you think if a ship of 1900 ton is accomodating 32+40 = 72 Vls. Another ship of 2950-3300 ton should atleast have a 32 cell Vls ? Also I wanted to ask about the Chinese New Vls which can quadpack... What do you think about that ? Can it find its way towards common use on Chinese ships ?

Is there any hope for investment in SAM systems in AvRID or AWC?just a formidable 25km defence system will be enough for our ships.As someone said we are not going to take down Fighter jets with Ship based SAMs because fighter jets remain at least 300km away from ship.So

1. The example of Saar 6 was meant to demonstrate that even a 1900 ton ship can have 32+40 = 72 VLS. It is possible.

2. The second point was why can't Babar with its 2950 ton or Jinnah with its 3300 Tom have atleast 32 cells Vls without quad-packing or 16 cells Vls with quad-pack along 12-16 AShM as compare to current 8. I don't think that will be anything more than $400 million as compare to $250 million (excluding weapons systems ) for Babar class.

I think Turkey Is working in this regard. They are working on a VLS that is based on HISAR system. Google more about it.
