Ideally there is no need - the strategic depth can be had by developing Samungli, Peshawar and another base towards the Afghan border. As far as Afghanistan does, the original want of free access through the Wakhan corridor is really the focus that is needed. The rest is not Pakistan’s problem per se although those blackhawks would have been very useful instead of now ending up in Uzbekistan.One scenario Pakistan can explore is leasing Afghanistan's bases to house some PA and PAF assets, but that would depend on whether Rawalpindi still believes in 'strategic depth'.
