Engineering is Iterative, evolution of successful design

China has unlimited resources so it can research 10 plane platform at once
we, unfortunately, have limited resources so we can continue to improve the JF17 program

Just like Saab/Sweeden continues to invest in Gripen, improvements

So we are on the same evolution like SAAB/Grippen and Grippen is not Bigger than standard Gripen (GRIPEN C) But its has sightly powerful engine and with latest Avionics+ASEA
And if we have limited resources the how we sustain 10 year gaps with rival (India) and need replacement for our Mirages ASAP and J-10C fit the bill for this purpose well

Scaling up design is easier as the outcome is predictable provided all parts of the plane are scaled up
together with Engine thrust to account for more weight of plane

Bigger size and engine give you better ability to carry more weapons and more power in air , the best example for this is the F18 hornet and, Super Hornet

And more importantly what will be compromised to achieve this wet dream (read Project Azm). People just cannot get it into their heads that we designed/helped design the JFT keeping in our mind the utility of the AC for our use. It was designed by an Air force which Iam sure is better aware of its needs than some of us who expel brain farts like this one. Before one changes the shape there is a need to look at changes and upgrades that can still be made to the current airframe if required.

Still have enough clearance to add a new Hp like f-16 provided outer wing is strengthened to take 200 kg sd-10 or wingtip is strengthen like f-16 to take sd-10 and new Hp under wing to take lighter short range Ama ??

This will bring swing role capability meaning both a2a and a2g role in same mission like typhoon or other 4 gen aircraft Plus can still carry drop tanks for range

Hi something very interesting has come out in the DCS game inclusion of Jf17.

In the initial stages the JF 17 has done very well in close combat with in the visual range missiles and also with the canon against better aircraft.

This proves my point of no within visual range Combat against the enemy if the Jeff is as good as it plays in the game.

a A better enemy aircraft will prefer not to come into close contact with Jeff after these reviews.

now how truthful and close to reality this game is in showing the actual capability of the aircraft—-only the pilots would know and actual combat will tell.

Unless you know the backgrounds and contact list of each forum member that comes with revelations and new bits, i would not dare make such sweeping statements. The info can be right, or wrong, but most of the time, it is indeed from legit sources.



Jordanian ADFs are the only ones without MLU, but being ADF, they can use AMRAAMS, not so the JHCMS.

Mlu was mostly avionics
