The PAC JF-17 Thunder is a lightweight, single-engine, multi-role combat aircraft developed jointly by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) of China. The JF-17 can be used for aerial reconnaissance, ground attack and aircraft interception. Its designation "JF-17" by Pakistan is short for "Joint Fighter-17", while the designation and name "FC-1 Xiaolong" by China means "Fighter China-1 Fierce Dragon".

The JF-17 can deploy diverse ordnance, including air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles, and a 23 mm GSh-23-2 twin-barrel autocannon. Powered by a Guizhou WS-13 or Klimov RD-93 afterburning turbofan, it has a top speed of Mach 1.8

Talking about the effectiveness of JF-17 Thunder in mountainous areas, Lt General Tariq Khan said that it is a multi-purpose aircraft that can attack, defend, provide close support on the ground, provide combat air patrol and intercept.

Tariq Khan said that Pakistan exports JF-17 Thunder fighter jets to Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Myanmar. He said that every year the interest of countries to the JF-17 Thunder aircraft continues to grow.

If you do not know @Deino you are a nobody in matters relating to PLAAF & Chinese Aviation hardware. The guy wrote the book on PLAAF. Sit down!
My university classmate works in military aviation institute of China. So what? It is impossible to let every man know the deal under table by CHN/PAK government.
For example, the CHN soldier pilot F-16 in PAK. It is impossible to talk about in public media.

@The Eagle No PL15. Indegenous alternative only in future.

We can refer a development from past 02.02.2018 as follows... to our indigenous BVR progress?

A JF-17 Thunder shot down a slow speed target with BVR (Beyond Visual Range) and IR (Infrared) air-to-air missile with pin point accuracy at a range near Karachi, the Pakistan Air Force said on Friday.

I did hint at that to @messiach you can clearly see quite a few civilians (including Chinese) in this video, but I dont understand why they would be needed/present if it was just a standard SD10 target practice :what:
