JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

Actually the oil leaks are relatively common. What happens is that seals are not fully expanded when the aircraft is on the ground and cold. As it flies its surfaces heat up and expand causing the seals to tighten closing the leaks. Thats normal. IF they were fully sealed at idle they would tear the seals at speed and it would be leak city. The SR-71 was famously made with loose surfaces and leaked fuel and oil regularly while on the ground. At speed the surfaces expanded creating tight seals.

Smoke and oil leaking ???View attachment 450955

Hi,

The one in the front is the from the firing of canon / machine gun burn marks.

The rear is from drainage hole---you do understand the concept.

Here is an image of the famous SR71 sitting on the tarmac----the large puddle under the aircraft is leaking fuel---and not water.

the genius will counter this by saying SR71 is a relic of the past and that Tejas never leaves any puddle on the truck

Smoke blackened gun ports is nothing unusual on fighter jets as well as the oil leak. It looks more apparent here as the leak point is close to the body, this has been addressed in the newer versions with a small protruding pipe that will stop the slip stream spraying the oil against the body.

Nice to see President Mamnoon Hussain out in the sun. He is looking like a boss here. President Joko Widodo is also looking great.

Best of all though is the bird in the background :smokin:
Or it may be a Blowup doll or cardboard cutout of President Mamnoon..Who knows.
