All these fancy toys will be sitting ducks without enough fuel and ammo. Without a strong economy these toys are useless.

@NooriNuth, The defence forum is the perfect place to discuss it. Economy is the most important part of defence. Strong Economy = Strong Defence. Weak Economy = Weak Defence.
Syasat dot pk is for politics Not for economy. Defence forum is 100% right forum to discuss whats vital for our defence and that's economy. However, yes you could suggest to discuss it in other threads. I wish there should be more threads regarding economy in PDF. What went wrong, how to improve it, on various industries & sectors and our interest should be economy if we have to become a great nation not just the by product of economy (fighter jets and likes)

USSR's 1000s of fighter jets and 100s of airbases became useless when they had no money. They all became useless and junkyards. Even today you can view from google satellite map, many airbases & structure with rust and totally finished. Falling reserves is a huge concern that how we will keep all squadrons in flying condition. Its a blessing that we operate JF-17 (very low operational cost per hour) If we had an expensive jet our worries would be even more. Fights jets, Tanks, missiles, APCs, jeeps, trucks everything that military operates runs with fuel. and that very commodity we import.

To stay competent against the enemy---your equipment has to be within 95 % capable as that of the enemy's---.

With precision modern day weapons and the easy to use---user friendly setup---a 10-15% less capable weapon capability---the opponent will be decimated---be it russia against Ukraine or china against anyone else or pakistan against its opponent---.

a. Ukraine crisis has busted many a myths---.

1. the bigger& ill prepared that you are---the harder you fall

2. your size your might must reflect by the equipment that you have. Larger numbers are not going to count on much---except for more destruction of your equipment and men

3. understand the importance of TIME in any decision making situation of life---death---work---whatever---. Case in point---russia gave Ukraine 1 month warning---inadvertantly gave them 1 month to prepare.

Russian intelligence totally missed out on the support that the west gave to Ukraine---. I would rather say that the russian intel was sleeping---while the US intel was arming and training ukranians soldiers

4. Understand the terrain that you are going to fight in or above---which is situational awareness---. If your heavy equipment got bogged down in mud---you are done and dusted.

5. why did it get bogged down---because smart weapons took out your point of spear heavy equipment---like your tanks---your armored carriers etc etc etc on the roads that they were travelling on---and agricultural land was too soft for heavy equipment.

6. because the shoulder launched SA missiles took out your gunship helicopters & SU 25 ground attack aircraft

7. and all this done by the opponent who did not have any capable heavy weapons to fight against the larger enemy---.

8. because their air superiority aircraft were taken out by sams

9. smart and capable weapons made mince meat of a heavy burdened army equipped with aging & ill fitting equipment

b. pakistan's air strike against opponent---another lesson---better equipment---better results---regardless of the size---. Bad planning left the enemy off the hook to prepare and fight another day---.

1. extremely successful strike in the initial stages---because of preparedness and capable equipment---perfect timing

2. but a total disastrous failure when an opportunity presented itself during the excursion---and the Paf hierarchy---pak militray command was ill prepared & had not prepared its pilots at all to face it and take advantage of it---. Pilots were begging---& old commanders looked bewildered & out of touch at how to---???????

This is about the Paf aircraft getting strong locks on enemy aircraft during combat---but high command had not prepared its pilots---so a total lack of taking advantage of a highly advantageous situation that was created during the strike mission that created a massive massive once in a lifetime confusion amongst the enemy flyer ranks---which would have totally busted the myth of of the SU30's---Mirage 2K aircrafts & decimated their moral for years to come.
