Clean! MashaAllah
Pod can self jamming, may not cover other aircraft when a dog fight occurs.I think pod is a better option as u can use them as per missiom requirements. For example, you can equip jamming pods on one aircrafts as per the requirement. Targetting pods and air to surface missiles on 2 aircrafts and the remaining aircrafts with weapons to escort.
This will allow much effecient use of limited weight carrying capability of a planned attack
There is no second thought that an aircraft with all the equipment is built-in pods but then it has disadvantage as well. First of all it cannot be light or medium wright it has to be heavy twin engine aircraft and with all such pods the cost will also be really high. With limited budget we cant afford that luxury.Pod can self jamming, may not cover other aircraft when a dog fight occurs.
According to what you wrote, you will require 4-6 aircrafts to complete a mission, each complimenting each other. If one gets shot down, its unique capability (jamming pod or targeting pod or armament like A2G missile) will be lost, compromising the whole mission.
Thats why more hard points could be required. Say for your analysis up there, if you put 2 x Rafale with 13 Hardpoints each, you have 26 hard points on just two aircrafts. If you put 2-4 x Rafale in air, they can all carry, every kind of pods/equipment.
cost...hmm let see...There is no second thought that an aircraft with all the equipment is built-in pods but then it has disadvantage as well. Which practically means in this case 250 radars vs 36 radars and 1700+ hardpoints vs 400+ hardpoints meaning approximately 4x more weapons and pods carrying capacity. Quantity has its own quality. We should order more of these Block 3s.cost...hmm let see...
36 rafales cost 7 billion dollars..
with that amount of foreign exchange you can build 500 jf 17s
with that amount of money you can build 250 jf17 block 3( 25million a piece)
add another 1-2 billion you can equip them with all pods and jammers you want from different countries(turkey, spain, italy)..
250 are block 3 not counting the savings done in foreign exchange...as block were much cheaper(50 for 800million dollars)Which practically means in this case 250 radars vs 36 radars and 1700+ hardpoints vs 400+ hardpoints. Quantity has its own quality. We should order more of these Block 3s.
100 PL 15 are already in PAF inventory. Hinted by some senior members here post 27th Feb250 are block 3 not counting the savings done in foreign exchange...as block were much cheaper(50 for 800million dollars)
reality is with 9 billion of total deal of rafales that IAF did, Pakistan can virtually completely overhaul its air force with that amount of money
real deal will be whether Chinese will allow PAF to get the latest PL 15 and other weapons
PL15 is not integrated as of today.100 PL 15 are already in PAF inventory. Hinted by some senior members here post 27th Feb
PL15 is not integrated as of today.
Take it the other way round: As far as the current radar can see the prey (~130km), PL-15 can catch it! Which will give the pilot immense confidence! PL-15 integration will be a win-win either way. Nothing to lose here!Jet's radar will not be able to see this far anyway?
Those 7 billions are not just for jets sir. I thinks weapons, other systems are also includedcost...hmm let see...

remember we are still having issues to even build 150 thunders due to cost that too block 1 & 2 which are sub 18 million
U mean V2 can lock the prey at 130km?Take it the other way round: As far as the current radar can see the prey (~130km), PL-15 can catch it! Which will give the pilot immense confidence! PL-15 integration will be a win-win either way. Nothing to lose here!
Lets put it this way, as per the open sources, the PL-15 range outranges the range of KLJ-7 V2.U mean V2 can lock the prey at 130km?
