JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

Money is never made by selling a plane -- money is made by the services rendered after the product is sold. Example, HP makes a printer sells for $ 100 -- hardly any profit yet sells Ink Cartridges -- for $ 50 Black & $ 60 Color over 5+ years keeping the printer image the profit you've made.

For our aero industry this services rendered and over hauling is where investment's also need to be made thus creating a steady cash flow.
When you sell a plane you are in some way committing the buyer to the product. They then are actually involved in the program. If we manage to sell a good number of JF-17s we might also convince the buyer to invest in future blocks.

RD-93 cost $ 4.5 million (as per official documents) ....

EJ-2000 with 6,000 engine flying hours (click) have more service life than JF-17 airframe ....

I don't know we even should consider it as advantage ... ??? so agree with your stance here ....

hi

i believe That the Chinese signed a $256 million deal with the Russians for the Rd 93 engine 100 of them so that would have included training spares parts accessories so let’s say about 2.5 million for engine on the other hand the ej 200 is roughly about 8.6 mil so looks like they ej 200 is roughly about 3.5 times while the price of the RD93.

and as you mentioned 4000 hrs life of aircraft—-RD 93 is a perfect match.

Thank you.

sir

when you sell a fighter aircraft you iwn the buyer lock stock & barrel

If I am not wrong initial design life of F-16 was 6000 flying hours ...

4000 6000 ... bottom line with time you come up with structural improvements to enhance the life of the platform B52 getting slep today and will continue provided one can justify expenditures vs benefits

Hi

Thanks for reminding me.

i recall maybe a year or two ago on same subject i had written same about EJ200.

its life span is almost twice that of the jf17 air frame.

then the price difference between 8.6 mil & 2.6 mil is 6 million dollars.

6 mil x 250 aircraft= 1.5 billion dollars

With that money we can invest in a lots of tactical stuff for the aircraft.

Using drag chute for reduction in speed causes less damage to the airframe.
Oh, I thought it would only affect the part that sticks out. Thus replacements wouldnt be that expensive, relative to other things.
