Asalam O Alikum guys hope you all are fine. I wanted to ask a question. Why go for WS-13A/B while WS-10 is developed and put into mass production. Dimensions of both engines are almost same and i realize that its not a easy task to change the engine of aircraft but what WS-10A/B gives i think its not bad. JF17 should get a modified WS-10A/B. Well i hope which ever engine Pakistan goes for they should produce it domestically.

.
Elaborate please.

With this firing across the Loc---india has lowered the bar for a serious conflict---Pakistan had nothing much to show except for a threat of tactical nucs if things went out of control.

Actually right now---an induction of a couple of sqdrn's of J11's would be a tremendous relief----even a sqdrn strength now and 1 later.

You should put things in their real context and lower the odds, since Pakistan population is also the tenth of that of India, they are in par with each other proportionally speaking.

For now the whole SU-35 MKI fleet is grounded. Isn't GOD great?

You are right----I had written on another thread---there are problems somewhere in the stars----it is a direct message to Mr Modi----an aircraft with an excellent flight history suddenly falls out of the blue skies like a rock onto the ground---when there are threats being delivered of 10 times the response----it s a show stopper.

I don't see war coming. LOC firing is to relieve domestic pressure from Nawaz so he could fulfill promises he has made with the Americans/Indians. It may intensify if IK keeps pressurizing Nawaz government but not for long. Terrorist-turned PM Modi will loose corporate support fast if he went for war, even a limited one. Corporate India knows that even in this weak state, Pakistan wont be a walkover. However, there is nothing wrong trying to acquire more F-16 Blk52 but I am not sure about J-11s.

Wa alaikum as salam.
Bhai firstly none of the engines that you have mentioned are in mass production. There are serious problems reported with WS10. The problems mean a much shortened life and MTBO. Secondly even if there were no problems WS10 is far too big for JFT and would be unsuitable for many reasons.

Hi,

That is correct----.
So you dont think that the MLUes and the ADAs are any good? Please elaborate.

I know I shouldn't fly that high but imagine Su-35 frames in PAF service with Eagle or Rafale's avionics

.
I know the PAF have always stuck with single engined aircraft, but considering how big pakistan is, a double engined fighter makes more sense even if there is obvious price issues.

the J-11 should have been something PAF should have gone for 10 years ago when the US were pissing pakistan off by not providing The F-16s. i don't know where it fits into the picture now.

So by your(flawed) logic, Singapore being as tiny as it is should have never ordered the F-15SG?

There are requirements based on threat assessments and monetary feasibilities. The perfect fighter for the PAF based on those has/is and for a while anyway will be the F-16.

in the words of a not to be named pilot, "as if the f-16 was developed by keeping PAF requirements in view, almost by default".

Can the proposed Chinese engine make jf17. Super cruise

Does it have enough dry thrust?

unlikely,ws-13's thrust is between 86-90 kn as per available data

It can super-cruise.. but there cant be anything hanging off it.. not very useful that way.

Not just PAF, such good is the plane, that world's top air forces use it. Taiwan, Israel, Egypt, Turkey, Belgium, Norway, Netherlands, UAE, Pakistan, USA, Singapore in all sorts of situations imaginable.

Probably the best all round combat aircraft ever built. The Swiss Knife of Air-Combat.

Or the Mirage 2000-9, considering no axe hangs over your neck due to Uncle Sam.

Nope. The F-16 is still the better all round fighter.

French screwed us over JF-17 avionics (or lack of funds, official stance). french bromance with India, there remains no difference b/w Uncle Sam Axe and Aunty Joan axe
