. . . . .
Seems like PAFs standard 4 WVR missile configuration. Not twin missile racks.

.
*compare our air launched version of Brahmos with this PGM.. Brahmos with range 290 km mach 2.8 payload 300 kg weighs 2500 kg.. Kh15 AShM mach5 payload 150 kg 300km weighs 1200 kg.. This one weighs only 400 kg??
*Short legged and light aircraft like JF17 going beyond 150 km from Pakistan shore to attack our AC is suicidal..
*Our air craft carriers will be stationed far from your costline.. Our AC mission is naval blockade.. Will bestationed far from ship route because of Mig 29k long range(500 km for those missions)
* Jf17 s coming 200 km near our carrier battle group is not possible as we will see you well before( big radars in ships and awacs) and dispatches mig 29s..
* air defence in carrier battle group is strong..
at 500km it wont be a blockade. first look at the map, measure the distance and than you can post something stupid.

The morning of 4 December 1971, the eight Sea Hawk aircraft on the Vikrant launched an air raid on Cox's Bazaar from 60 nm away. That evening, the air group struck Chittagong harbour. Other strikes targeted Khulna and Mongla. A PTI message is supposed to have read, "Chittagong harbour abalze as ships and aircraft of the (Pakistan) Eastern Naval Fleet bombed and rocketed. Not a single vessel can be put to sea from Chittagong". Air strikes staged from the Vikrant continued till 10 December 1971.
Sea hawk aircrafts launched air strikes from vikrant which is stationed 112km away..
Here mig29 range is 500km for these type of missions.. So our AC required to be statined that much farther..

those vessels were gunboats, the total PAF strength in the entire East Pakistan(now Bangladesh) was 12 aircraft, that had to fight against IAF which was attacking from 3 sides as well as IN aviation wing. now anything else you have got that is more stupid?

btw 60nm means 111km, not 500km.

Exactly that is our strategy.. The more PAF streangth PAF deployed this side, the easier our MKI's attain the air superiority on the other side.. Defending merchant ships are not an easy task.. You want to deploy much bigger number of aircrafts to defend your merchant ships.. Also number of ships registered Pakistan as flag state is very very limited.. No foreign ships will dare to come to that sceneario..

again an idiotic post. there is little something known as air defense system and radar. and there is another thing known as land based anti ship cruise missile. i would again ask you to look to google for guidance on these things before posting nonsense.

Read my above post clearly and fully.. I also clearly quoted 60nm=112km..
The difference is., they were Sea hawks and now we have mig29k

You missed the whole thing man.. Read the previous posts of descussion.. Our descussion topic was about air launched anti ship missile CM400akg from jf17.. So you are saying shore based anti ship cruise missiles are more good than this pgm with nick name carrier killer.. Exactly what I am tryied to say..

The argument is based on JF-17 being short legged and unable to conduct anti-ship ops beyond 150 km. Both the assumptions are wrong. JF-17 air to ground role range is about a 1000km, so one can extrapolate that in anti shipping role too it would be similar.
