JF-17 is our 2nd line of defence its not required to be supprior to F-16.. But it has to be supprior from Mirage and F-7...
what we need is new Jet may be J-10B if india gets hands on Raffel because PAF is stuck in gen 4 and 4.25 we really need gen 4.75 figter..

AESA with small combat radius and pay load will be a bad option because we already using AWACS

Well if India goes for Rafale than we definatlely need to go for 72 + J 10 B or C

I think, Pakistan should NOT copy what India does, we need to have own independent plans and analysis instead depending on India everything what they have or what they purchase.

In a recent interview with JF-17 Thunder's deputy project director, Air Commodore Khalid Mehmood by Air Force Monthly, a question was brought up regarding J-10B/FC-20 acquisition proposal. He stated the reasons why Pakistan doesn't need/can't afford another 4+ generation fighter when we are developing JF-17s in advanced blocks and our F-16 MLU-MIII upgrade is coming along well with the new Block-52+ squadron. He also suggested that our analysts and strategic planners should think about 5th generation acquisition in the future instead of buying up another 4+ generation aircraft. Please note that this doesn't mean to imply that the J-10B is somehow 'inferior'. The hypothesis is that PAF doesn't need capabilities it already has, it needs to look ahead.

When J-31 is about to come, buying J-10B will be a blunder. Go for AESA F-16 and AESA JF-17 thunder and buy J-31

Exactly. PAF official also can't guarantee our jets including JF-17 will include AESA radars.

Why do you think incremental Blocks are introduced in JF-17? to improve and introduce. JF-17 received IFR probe in Block II what does it mean?...If JF-17 is meant to have several Blocks it means better product in the future thus it would receive same technologies J-10B could get. From Pakistan point of view it is not easy under budgetary problems and bad economy to afford another Type that is why Pakistan chose to keep on buying F-16 when ever money available and continue with the improvements to JF-17 so maybe forget for next 10 Years anything else, JF-17s, F-16s and Mirage ROSE will continue.

Indian government is also too much corrupt, but problem was democratic governments of Zardari having no interest in any welfare or military projects. NS is trader too, he has no interest in defense. So bad for PAkistan as Benazir and Musharaf gone

Yes, more likely Pakistan have to use old F-16 and some new Block 52 to counter both MKI and Rafael.

I strongly support J-10B into PAF inventory but our official always change their minds. I don't think J-31 will effectively prevent MKI / Rafael / PAKFA, we are slowly lagging behind.
