Is the lost JF-17 made up for? Isn't 16 a low number for squadron strength, assuming, there will be attrition?
16 is enough for a squadron. 16 are more capable than 20-30 F-7Ps. The priority should be to devise and master operational routine and tactics. More and more air and ground crews should get familiarize with new system ASAP. You can fill the numbers later when more examples become available.

Last time it failed to fire back in jan 2013,when pilot pressed to launch on target,missile was not launched..

That was an issue with the software rather than anything else. There was also a screen shut off issue ongoing. Gestation of aircraft has these odd problems that normally never come to light.

But this should not have happened after so many years, this project was truly lagged behind when PLAAF have no intentions to use it,what you say about that sir.

It happened to the Su-30MKI. The Joint Strike fighter has had these issues.. the F-16 kept killing its pilots by making them fly incorrectly... The F-14 kept having engine flameout years after its induction.

Its been ten years to PT-04. Since 2009 the country has been under the rule of a person who has imported groceries delivered to Bilawal house everyday from the coffers of the Sindh Government... so money was so scarce that meeting payroll of personell became an issue... The aircraft is under multiple loans, one to pay off the other..

So really, these issues are not even 1/10th of the problem.

Although LCA and F-35 programs report every software and hardware problem it face :D

Because the nations have a lot higher requirement for transparency than Pakistan.Here the issues are never looked at a public hearing on the status of the aircraft. Has there been any committee by auditors on the development cycle? Deadlines? etc?
None.

Pakistani Government money and taxes are a blackhole. There is no accountability as the GENERAL public does not care for accountability.

Sir that happens all over the world. How much did the deadlines work in case of JSF or even the mighty LCA next door? Corruption is a big issue, and eats the society inside out. Some have more than others. Here in Pakistan, you pass cash on the table. Elsewhere, it might not be visible on the table, but cash goes all sorts of ways under the table.

squadron strength is all relative. depends on availability of aircraft for the type involved. F-104 sqn had 12 a/c bcuz thats all we had in our inventory. 16-18 is the modern standard.

If they do it my way, I would want them to give 8-10 aircrafts per squadron for starter so it would speed the process and give more capabilities than even double the number of older types being replaced. And said before, increase the quantity later per squadron.

Read in the paper that Afghans are also willing to buy JF among other hardware.

why dont we get saturn 117s thrust vectoring turbfan for block 3? it will be a massive boost in payload and ttw. the ws 10 would be just as good i mean i know they wont fit but we can enlarge the aircraft

If it is blk 2, why doesn't it have the IFR?
