True, calling all that a JF-17 next block is wrong. That will essentially be a new plane, ALMOST SURELY to be based on J31, If there is any made by PAC. Else it is more likely that we will buy J31 directly and incorporate SOME of its technologies in JF-17 upgrades to make it a better 4, 4.5 generation plane.

The thing is that the Chinese have already built that plane J 31 for us and them----so I don't know what the fanboys are discussing stealth JF 17 and for what reason.

They should know by now that the stealth version of JF 17 is J 31

In our arena---there won't be many a 5th gen fighters like bees. the 4.5 gen aircraft would be the best bang for the buck----it would need to have the most advanced electronics package and a very potent air to air missile----

In modern day air wars "Arenas' are what the enemy brings. Who would have thought use of stealth bombers in Gulf in 1990's? and who would have thought of US at war with a gulf country?

You prepare for predictability----and for unpredictable things---you try to stay away from creating issues.

Enemy cannot bring in what he does not have.

U S just did not jump into the gulf war---it gave enough warning and a lots of time to move back.
