Personally, these shots with Fuel tanks on fighter aircraft - to me, just don't say the right thing about fighter aircraft - Fighter - Jangandah - Shikari - armed to the teeth, not one that needs to carry it's fuel it's fuel externally

Unfortunately, these Shikaris have extremely high metabolisms and need to drink a lot.
To be able to carry enough fuel internally and still be deadly you need to be big, dedicated air to air killers like the F-15 and Su-27 are just that.

Dumb bombs or JDAMish?

Should be dumb bombs to me as JDAMs are expensive and hard to get.

That Photo Shop depict Jf-17 - 106 dropping two MK-82 bombs on mock targets during High Marks 2010.

a couple more

Well, actually just like your average knight warrior needs some Halwa Puri in stomach to draw that sword fight, these babies need the juice for that extra mileage or the precious minutes to execute what they are best at.

Hardly deadly against (un-compromised) F-16

Hi,

Isn't the loiter time for the SU30 is arond 3 1/2 to 4 hrs-----. Compare it to F7PG around---1/2 hr to 45 minutes----. All planes take off with fuel tanks on wings and under belly---which they drop before engagement.

Titbit is that second batch avionics are being tested on a prototype (not sure its 04 or 06) and performance is twice as good as the first batch avionics. Much powerful mission computers are used for sensor fusion, overall performance is very satisfactory. What was once offered by Sagem should be left behind despite how good it was. PAF does seem happy with Chinese technological advancements. They are at a stage where they can compete with the best in world. Also, new flight control interface (fly by light as he called it) is being used in J-20 and FC-20 might share a piece of it.
06 has been there for a while, I suspect it will be the testbed. You dont run a flight test everyday to test drive a prototype do you. What makes me add weight to this argument is that sometimes ago it was rumored that Egypt is going ahead with Block II equivalent, that means that with all Chinese goodies PT-6 would be the block II testbed at least for Egypt, but still wondering what PT-4 was doing over there?

All smaller planes do, but that depends on mission type..
Is the mission an intercept within 10 to 15 minutes from the base.. or a 30 minute flight into enemy territory, loitering for another 30 minutes.. and coming back..

Thanks a lot for bringing us very good news for our new JF-17 tech advancements. We are very happi to hear that Chinese tech is getting advance enough to compete any western tech right now and we don't need anymore dependence on the West....:)
