in response to another member at some other thread, i came to the conclusion that the total weight of JF-17 being shown as 9,100 is not the normal flying specifications, here is why:

" So now take out the piece by piece of this 9,100KG weight, you have empty weight of 6,411KG, 2,300KG fuel and the rest 389KG goes for the 2 wing tip missiles. So it means the missiles are being taken as approx 190KG per piece, isn't that too much for a WVR missile ?? It is, as the PL-5EII version being used on JF-17s weight just 83KG per piece, thus a massive reduction of the weight of the 2 wing tip missiles from 390KG to just about 166KG for 2 WVR missiles, a massive 223KG reduction in the weight for just wing tip missiles. From my calculation it seems, the weight of the wing tip missiles was taken for a BVR range missile which are in the 190-200KG weight category, as there is nothing else which can justify a 190KG wing tip missile.

So, now limited usage of composites has already started and it has led to few hundred KG further weight reduction, so with such massive weight reductions as demonstrated by the wing tip missile weight calculations, its very plausible that JF-17s TWR is more then 1, especially with the engine thrust to be little higher then what is expected by people on the forums. '

Seriously how can you guys tell when the picture is so blurry? I am red-green color blind so I'm not fit to comment but can you guys tell whether the head is red or green?

Sapper's right, the picture is of the 10-111, the one which was rolled out on Nov 23 last year, the first one made at PAC.

Note the date of the picture, its Feb,2010, thus without any doubt, it can be and is the 111 as you can't see the red color at front suggesting it to be the first JF-17.

the engines for the Jf-17 are planned to be 100 KN; therefore two engines would give at leat 200 KN

while the WS-15 engiine is planned to be used on the J-XX and have 180 KN per engine

a single engine WS-15 poowered fighter could be ascaled up Stealthy JF-17

if the same technology is applied to the JF-17's engine (engine thrust upgraded to about 120kn) and the JF-17 is made lighter with composites and controlled by the lighter (no hydralyic fluids) quad fly by wire, it could probably supercuise (a 5th gen essential)

gripen 2000 lb (~1 ton) less than the JF-17 and with a 98kn Engine (F414) it can supercruise -- the ability to fly supersonic without the use of afterburner which results in fuel savings and an increase in range.

if more composites were used and the hydralic replaced with a complete quad fly by wire, and the body slightly redesigned to accomidate it, the JF-17 could probably also supercruise (because the Ws-13 is being upgraded to 100kn range)

If the gatling gun is removed from the bottom and moved to the top, and the central pylong is removed, that clears the underside except for the wheels--wheels away from the body, allow the weapons bay to be longer, and allow the stealthy JF-17 to carry 2 SD-10 or Ramjet BVr missiles, and 2 WVR Missiles

if the wheels are shifted forth out to the wings like in the x-32 and f-35

For reducing the JF-17's RCS, the first thing that must be eliminated is the single vertical stab.A clean F-16 is about one meter square at that distance and this is the unofficial standard. So if there is any attempt to make the JF-17 'stealthy', this is the goal.

Gripen can only supercruise in the winter (sometimes, depending on how cold-dense the air at aparticular altitude)

Does the JFT need to supercruise? To what hotspot of the world will this aircraft be sent to as if to a colonial territory?

No the mission of the JFT is different - with all the stuff being talked about, you are really talking about a different ship with a different mission. Lets not take this multirole thing out of proportion.

and 2nd pic is Pak china color scheme Aircraft showing top of the aircraft......
