Would Zimbabwean Air Force be getting PL-12/SD-10.

I believe the SD-10 is one of the JF-17 major strength ... ... it is the highest scoring single item. I have never bought into the rumours that China will withhold the SD-10 to certain customers. I don't see an airforce buying a new fighter these days that does not offer BVR except maybe for trainers.

By the way, they are talking of upgraded K-8s with radars. Would love to see that they will be capable of - they have bigger cones than F-7s.

it states very clearly 'delivery status unclear' - anytime u see this means nothing has happened. merely rumours!

It will remain "unclear" in case of Zimbabwe for quite a while. :)

I am one of the few who have been puzzled as to why a more capable single seat version of the K-8 has not been developed, like most other trainers.

Perhaps this is it.

Has Anyone observed the new nose of J-10B..... Is it diamond shape nose? If it is, then i think we can assume, what kind of nose next JF-17 block will be getting!

The J-10b does not have a diamond shaped nose. The J-20 however has a diamond shaped nose.

it was highly expected sir . and should be its installed .BTW its erect able probe or fixed?

We have to go by what Chinese have developed and where they are being installed. It is reported that J-10B has received the retractable probes and they are placed on the port side (not confirmed). If that is correct than we should see all new chinese aircrafts with the retractable probes which are highly advantagous.

I want to dispel any impression by my post above that JF-17 will get a retractable probe. Because of the weight issue, the probes could likely be fixed until JF-17 has a higher thrust ratio. With the current engine, retractable probes will hurt the performance.

I am hoping for for a better yielding RD-33MK rather than RD-93, Add weight reduction by more composites to this and the figure should come out to be ample providing a cushion to upgrades

Wouldn't a fixed probe not add to the RCS of the aircraft? It would make having a V shaped nose become redundant to a certain extent, with a big probe sticking out. Should be really interesting to see what the block 2 looks like.

.
A fixed probe will have a minimul effect on the RCS, specially when the aircraft is loaded with external weaspons/systems. why would they put a retractable probe which will increase the cost, the weight, the maintenance and the design complexity of the system. Also, where will a JF-17 have the system housed. It is a small aircraft and a retractable probe does not add much to its value.
