isnt the RD-93 a variant of the RD-33? so the engines may be similar.
RD-93 is improved version of RD-33...based on the RD-33K model.
so the million $ question is!. can we see a JF-17VT variant in the near future (5 yrs)?

RD-93
A variant use to power the JF-17 / FC-1. According to JF-17.com "The most significant difference being the repositioning of the gearbox along the bottom of the engine casing."
ok, i dunno about that. i just posted what i saw.
However, i doubt the RD-93 would be better than the Rd-33K. Otherwise Russian and India would replce MiG-29's RD-33K engines with RD-93
The JF-17 Thunder is truely a good fighter.
This shows the results of good Sino-Pak cooperation.
China appreciates Pakistan's contribution to the project and hopes this fighter would enhance the PAF capabilities.
