JF-17 Thunder is ready to join Myanmar Air Force

. . . .
Unfortunately looks aren't important for fighters. Pakistan better work on countering the S400 threats as else we got big problems. We better work on giving it stealth ability and powerful electronic counter measures.
In fact, I agree partly my friend. Of course stealth ability and better ES ability will solve the AA problem directly. But this idea may works not so good. These things, are heavy burdens for country's economic because they are very expensive. For the S400 user, they will upgrade equipment to anti these tech too. For my opinion, JF-17 can be a better solution because we can produce it. From now on, Pakistan will have more convenience maintain environment and produce enough planes for the pilots --- compare with your neighbor. ( of course they have to worried about the worldwide warranty service during their train progress. PS: You know, I am really amazed that they put the parts from more than 10 countries together to produce their tank, how can they know which part from which country while replace the damaged parts). Thus the pilots and the officers can do more training and achieve better skills than your neighbor. In face, I think the skills (not only battle skills, but also other related skills, like military management skills) is much more important. For example, your neighbor, they sink their very advance RUS second-hand submarine in their dock by their poor ship management skills.

I write English with many grammar mistakes, hope you can understand my friend.

Yet the burn is still as new
well said

I will like to use this opportunity to say that I have deleted all irrelevant posts from the thread specially from those one line posters who bring in Politics and religion in defense threads.
it is irritating to find these trolls making their selective complaints over mistreatment of one group of people while in another thread they will be justifying something similar.
some of them are fake IDs but some are true and natural assholes with an ability to screw up the thread immediately the moment it is started.

No it is not a hypocrisy. I don't see these weapons being used against rohingyas.
why do you respond to these motherless oafs?
they will justify Saudi Bombing on Yemen in another thread and then cry over Barrel bombing in Syria and then complain about racism in another country and treat the Christian community in their neighborhood like trash. always treat them like scum never engage with them .

Anybody have an idea about specs of Maynmar JFT specifically? any new or alternate gadgets specifically preferred by the buyer in accordance with their needs?

You are right but those in high offices of Pakistan don't have these kind of concerns. They don't give a damn to 1000+ children died in Thar due to starvation and lack of food. How can they think about Burma or something else. Pakistan can easily highlight this issue with diplomacy and we can still pressurize the international community through diplomatic and media campaigns but no one is willing to do this.

I never used such words in my messages as trained by my Mass Communication instructors but i must say that Europeans/Westerners actively react to the incidents where Christians are persecuted and they use their power and influence to get the issue resolved. Muslim power players don't give "damn" to incidents where their religion mates get persecuted. It is the fault of our own leadership. No need to blame anyone else.
Weapons are not good or bad. Its their use which is good or bad. If pakistan will not sell them weapons they will buy it from some other country. Where as we should make all efforts to ensure muslims are not persecuted anywhere in the world, selling planes (or not selling for that matter) is immaterial. If they get planes from India, or China or Russia then they will stop persecuting Muslims ? And as per my information attack aircraft have not been used on Rohighya Muslims by Myanmar Government so far.

PAF is using IL76? I thought they were using IL78 as tankers only, can someone confirm ?

Myanmar-Air-Force-to-induct-JF-17-fighters-by-end-2017.jpg

A JF-17 Fierce Dragon fighter aircraft with the insignia of the Myanmar Air Force (MAF) on its tail has been conducting test flights in China's Chengdu airport, indicating that plans to induct them into MAF by end of this year may be on course.

That will make Pakistan a military hardware exporter because the Fierce Dragon has been jointly developed by Pakistan and China.

Khwaja Suhail Mansoor, chairman of Pakistan’s standing committee on defence production, claimed recently that the fiscal year that ended in July, the value of defence exports was $98.3 million, a 55% jump from a decade back.

While the JF-17 is a major joint collaboration effort to manufacture and sell combat planes by Pakistan Aeronautical Complex and the state-owned Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation (PAC/CAC), it has been mainly developed by China by improving its CAC FC-1 Xiaolong air fighter.

Myanmar is the first country to buy these planes to replace its aging combat force of 24 aging J-7 fighters and 16 A-5IIK ground attack aircraft.

MAF has a force level of 112 fighters, about 80 trainer aircraft, 25 transport aircraft, and around 140 helicopters.

In July 2015, Myanmar had signed a deal for 16 JF-17 Block II aircraft at a unit cost of $16 million, Jane’s Defence Weekly claimed.

Myanmar may also be considering buying an additional unspecified number of JF-17s. The Defense Ministry is tight-lipped on that.

The JF-17 Block II variant of the light multi-role and combat fighter is an improved version of the Block I fighter and boasts of mid-air refuelling facilities.

But, its role will largely be to provide close air support or for defensive operations.

With China’s active help, the Pakistan Air Force is also pursuing an ongoing effort to build and induct about 150 JF-17 fighters.
