DCS videos are also on Chinese youtubes sites. Seems like developers made the fighter better than it is in real life due to some bugs with drag. The plane in DCS is now a little bit too fast for weapons mode. SD-10 is basically using PL-12 characteristics and accurate. Chinese engineer on PL-12 also said the missile is between 120C and 120D in ability but in real world is hard to say for sure and even harder to say for export version of older PL-12. Now PL-12 is in second and third upgrades and received ramjet propulsion too. Completely new electronics compared to early 2000s SD-10. I'm sure China already sell Pakistan newer types but still call it SD-10.

Some people on comments say the 120C in DCS is dumb down. In real life, it's much stronger than DCS universe. In real life there is very little chance F-15C with 120C can be defeated in BVR by JF-17 unless JF-17 new version has PL-15.

Thus is apparently a pilot release...can't wait to see the inside & outside definitions once the final release is out. So far people have taken out F15s, F16s, F18s and M2Ks with the JF17 along with an F16 gun kill. If DCS is very close to real life combat matching all these parameters & ranges & everything else from aircrafts to weapons then it looks like Pakistan & China have created a beast of a monster!

what is missing in all this is the element of support that the fighter jets get in the form of AWACS, Satellites, ground radar and command and control. the jets don't always fight one on one alone with the rest of the world excluded
but still these sims are the best we can get as close to reality so credit is due.
it is a pleasure to see JF-17 taking our F-15s, SU 30s etc

Oh, clarification...JF17 hasn't taken out the su30 on DCS yet...Its only taken out the su30 in REAL LIFE! ​

Air to Ground role... taking out Patriot batteries while using LD-10 & evading incoming missiles, I think. The music was somehow funny.

I have been told many years ago that AIM120 got nothing on SD10. SD10 is the real deal. No one apart from PAF can make this assessment.

I still remember the words, (AIM120 is like "target practicing" missile).

40 nm or about 75 km against fighter at 40k ft above sea level

At 10k it will drop to 1/4th so about 10nm

Many people in DCS are saying that the gun is not placed at right angle on Thunder.
