The production has been intentionally slowed for certain reasons. Once those issues are overcome---it will be full blast----and it is slowed for good reasons.

Army has done super good, our Infantry is now atleast a decade ahead of Indian infantry; Army has gone through huge modernization, Air Force is doing good, remember though; JF-17 is is meant as a Mirage/Sabre replacement, Navy is doing shtty and cant ever match or even come close to India's naval strength.

PAF can't and won't produce at a rate of can't handle. Remember, with every squadron being converted to JF-17 you're training dozens of pilots and aircrew. Not only that, but you're setting up new maintenance infrastructure in bases.

There is no issue on funding. In fact, extra billions were provided to the military for FATA Ops. Also, extra hundreds of millions were provided again, not too long ago, by the civilian government to buy and build (internally), a lot of protective gear, including protective armor chassis for older Jeeps and Military transport trucks, special helmets and vests, and newer semi automatic rifles.

Look at the post above from Mastan Khan. He's right. PAC is slowing down production of new block II's, and will only be producing export orders for a while from One plant, and existing block I's will be going through an upgrade to block II.

The idea is to have all current (block I) JFT's upgraded to block II; and get the AESA rather quickly with air frame design updates if possible, and really build ALL block III's instead. If air-frame modifications can't be tested and put in production in a short term manner, than AESA and the Chinese LRAAM's will at minimum, be integrated into what's considered block II today (turning it into a Block 2.5 I'd guess).

This makes perfect sense and will avoid another time consuming and expensive retro-fit of all block II's to block III later. Block III will really be a decent 4.5 Gen platform with AESA and many new advance weapons, newer engine, stronger air-frame with more weapons stations and load lifting capability. So this all makes sense.

You don't have the capacity to build for Sale, Upgrade, Build Block II's and then do reconfiguration of the entire manufacturing line to R&D and build block III's !!!! Now that Pakistan and China will be selling block II's also, you now need another factory to overhaul these two blocks as the block I's have been flying a lot of hours for years.

All this, isn't easy. This is the first time Pakistan is building and selling advanced Jets. If we were talking about block 6, you wouldn't have this issue, as you'd have matured up by then.

PAF is going to attain a production capacity of 25 planes per year until 2017. This is a good number when we have of production but we have to produce more than 30 planes in a year if we want to induct 250 aircrafts domestically and also sale same number to foreign customers.

JF-17 Block II should be produced at 15-20 aircrafts per year and Block-III should be produced at 10 units per year. This is an ideal speed.

Speed of block, from building prototype to production , all in 2016 may indicate not much of an upgrade .

look man we need to produce quality products and mind you they have to be tested like hell and as we progress towards newer and modified versions of the jets the old tested ones could be sold to the customers that will also set a good precedent as a machine tested in war and is reliable is far superior than the ones newly inducted. A jet sold to a friendly country will place the factor of trust and quality and more orders will come. We at the moment are not going to war in the near future unless we want to bomb terrorist camps inside Afghanistan and India and Israel which i don't see is a necessity presently, as there are other constraints, and i don't see our jf17s stand a chance against the su-30s operated by Indian air force. you may educate me if there is such a possibility? and dont give me the quantity factor as our Indian armed forces counterpart is already shi**ting in pants by learning about our production and development capacity. we will need that for sustenance and consistency in our air force functionality and its superiority.

i am in affirmation with your opinion, we rather should go for quality rather quantity. we should introduce better jet fighters as such as su-35 and work on producing jets like f-18s in my opinion the most successful and reliable fighter even f-15. by going for quality we will be only putting a large effort into quantity. the full spectrum doctrine would also need to be addressed by the procurement of su35s and f-18s like remodeled f-17s

we can not spend too much on our armed forces and too much will never be enough as long as we dont have enough money! we also need money for education and health and development sector of infrastructure specially after the China Pakistan Economic Corridor we need to press the accelerator in this sector.

we can never compare our selves with the western powers they had the basic things in place before the world war, like health education and infrastructure. as for us? we yet have to fulfill this gap in our nation and economy. an educated healthy man is the ultimate utility for a nation unless your letting it slip your fingers!
