just curious sirji can you tell me what are pakistani made systems on JF-17 :pop:
So far I know, not much hardware is indigenous but the designing and synthesis works have been greatly done. Synthesis of technology is a good step towards self reliance. Manufacturing 100% parts is not possible for most of the industries of the world. Vendors development is now the concept of almost every large scale industry. Most of the large scale industries are producing things with the synthesis of their vendors' products. The role of these industries is mostly their designing.products and then taking out in shape of high quality products.

Just point to point acquisition of technology is not very beneficial. The subcontinent countries badly lack the concepts of developing their own technologies.

so your saying your nation dosent makes a single component of JF-17 and they are infact assemelled in PAC :azn:

If I would have been you !
I would have better kept myself away from Any Threat Related to Thunder.
As I don't have habit to poke my nose into thing that is not in my domain or rather not my concern.
How much Components of Thunder we manufacture or rather we only assemble, its not your concern to worry about.

BEIJING: As China looks to sell its J-10 fighter jet to Iran after lifting of UN sanctions, Pakistan may overtake Tehran as the first buyer of the Chinese multi-role aircraft, a military expert here has said.

"It is natural that Iran is interested in the J-10. Iran has a very limited range of choice in terms of arms procurement. In regard to military aircraft deals, I guess it can only choose between China and Russia," said Fu Qianshao, an aviation equipment expert with the PLA's air force.

"The J-10 is able to confront any of the third-generation fighter jets operated by Iran's neighbouring countries because it features supreme maneuverability, strong firepower and cutting-edge avionic equipment," Fu told state-run China Daily.

Fu said he believed the J-10's first overseas buyer will be Pakistan, not Iran, but did not elaborate on it.

According to the report, Japanese website The Diplomat cited an earlier report that Pakistan signed a deal for the purchase of 36 J-10 jets in 2009.

Pakistan, which jointly with China produces J-17 Thunder fighter aircraft, has been showing interest to acquire J-10, the report said, adding that China is also wooing Iran to buy 150 J-10s.

"Once the sanctions against Iran are completely lifted, the country will definitely renovate its civilian and military aircraft fleets. The J-10 is a good option for the Iranians because it can fulfill all operations they want to conduct," said
Wang Yanan, deputy editor-in-chief of Aerospace Knowledge magazine.

With the development of China's next-generation fighter jet progressing well, it is highly possible that the Chinese aviation industry will transfer technologies used on the J-10 to buyers, he added.

Yanan's remarks came in the backdrop of speculation in foreign media that China and Iran are discussing a deal for 150 J-10 fighter jets.

The J-10 is a third-generation, multi-role fighter aircraft designe
and produced by Chinese Aviation Industry.

Chinese military experts claim it is comparable to the latest version of the US' F-16 Fighting Falcon.

I would Rather Term it as Waste of Money.
We want Something from Flanker Class, which is the most Important need of Time Rather than Investing on J-10Bs, Don't Forget that Thunder and J-10 has a Very Little Difference. They are more or less same things with difference of Hardpoints and Payload.

58% is manufactured by Pakistan. it has ability to manufacture 75% but are manufactured in china because cheap labor cost. some components can be seen at PAC website such as hud
and might be in others website such as desto

instead of 250 JF-17s, pakistan should get 36 j-10 and 100 jf -17.
just my 2 cents :)
36 and 100 cannot match the power of 250+ JF-17.
its all about numbers if u have 500 f-16 you can beat 100 f-35.
so that mean if you are buying high cost jets at low number
that cant beat the advantages of low cost jets with greater numbers.

No JF-17 cannot be wrong plane. @MastanKhan high hyper and sometimes bad days or flip-flopping.

JF-17 already meet Pakistan's requirements so far, please progress faster to Block 3 or 4. Come on!!!

We are not just applying screw driver in the name of technology. The countries of this region including Bharat just apply screw driver and feel happy with the idea of technological acquisition. Pakistan is developing technologies. We demonstrated our capability by shooting down 2 Bharti Migs and a gunship in Kargil war. We design our technology and buy components from anywhere. What is the sense in wasting resources on components developments?

I am Also Talking About J-10B, JF-17 Thunder Block 3 Gives us more or less same Capabilities.
Absolutely no need to waste Money on it. Invest same money on Su-35.

Well in Dogfight, Even 100 F-16 will be more than enough for 100 F-35s.

J-10B has superior maneuverability, more payload, built-in IRST / EOTS and its AESA has an estimated 1000 T/R modules ... and even if JFT-Block-III gets AESA it will have to do with lesser number of T/R Modules due to space constraints in the nose (hence less capable AESA).

Most importantly ... it is available now.

Secondly do you know how much Life in hours J-10B offers ?
Regarding more payload, built-in IRST, JF-17 Thunder Block 3 will also have all these Goodies. Payload might not be Greater than or equal to that of J-10B but it will be more than 5k. For AESA, PAF is in talks regarding Selex Vixen 1000E Radar.
After Watching all these Goodies, J-10B appears to be same thing with more Payload and Hardpoints.

Instead of Wasting Money on J-10B, Su-35 or J-11D is way more Better option as it gives Top of the Line Air Superiority to Airforce.
