JF-17 Formally inducted in No 2 Squadron

Is there a single Nishan e Haider recipient who wasn't 'shot down' in the line of duty?

Hi,

But to have a symbol being downed by the enemy in enemy territory---.

Remember---the dead soldier has yet to receive it----. And he won't be put on a display for eternity in front of the Garrison square.

.
And when the enemy shoots that plane down---it is shooting down the Nishan a Haider---.

Well, that's debatable indeed. There are other things in Pakistan's armed forces whose destruction by enemy would mean the same like Al-Khalid tank which was named after the "sword of Allah" who in fact never saw defeat in his life in battlefield.

.
I also find it awkward to have painted Nishan e Haider on tail of aircraft.
They can have any other symbol/name.

Naming one thing for symbolic reasoning is different.
Giving graphical representation is different.

Nishan-e-Haider is posthumous...the image on the aircraft is just symbolic, it's not as if the recipient would be flying the mission.....and when the same aircraft shoots down an enemy fighter....how should we translate that then. !!
