JF-17 Block III's proposed AESA Radar KLJ-7A

The redesigned nose is pretty clear in this pic, behind the AESA antenna.

We have a confirmation that the blk 3 will feature J-10B like tilted nose section, and a Raven like antenna position. Interestingly, the nose does look to be in diamond shape, suggesting that perhaps, the blk 3 does have some RCS reduction features.
This means alot of things has happened already for block 3 and now we can hope seeing it fly in a few quarters.

Keep in mind that the blk 3 took three years from design to development. Now it seems that a lot had happened in those three years. We only know to some extent about the radar, but have no clue with other goodies might there be under the hood.

LKF601E - Another advanced radar option from China for the JF-17. This one is air cooled, has low power consumption and very compact, maybe intended for older JF-17 Blocks or for customers that want a cheaper AESA option but not the higher endBlk-3 for eg JF-17 Blk-2 Enhanced.

Pretty impressive numbers for a supposedly small air cooled radar! check out the map range (300) and fighter detection (170). In this case, the likely RCS of the fighter should be 5.

Just a small correction: That is not supposed to be depicting any portion of the aircraft's nose. This entire unit will go INSIDE the aircraft structure. You can also tell this by the fact that the main array in the front will not even be encapsulated by a cone or any structure mounted directly to the radar's rear structure (alleged nose of aircraft). It is likely that this structure is just a mockup and these components will be mounted slightly differently based on the aircraft (as the side panels look quite modular).

What we need to know now, is the unit costs of both the KLJ-7A and also the LKF601E. Both options will massively increase the capability of the JF17s.

Note, PAF is manufacturing the current radar for the JF17, so unless both the KLJ-7A or LKF601E come with full TOT, I suspect PAF will keep on manufacturing the existing Pulse Doppler radars and installing them.

What this highlights in the pace of the chinese military industry and the inability of Pakistan to keep up with it !

so which one is better....its quite confusing.170 km range..hmmm...if klj-7A is better then its range is better n more ?

.
The airframe design is pretty much frozen only inside is being upgraded that will take at least a year or so to complete.

Not possible, here is why. Look at the housing and notice the bottom, is this for an IRST or a DAS? Looks close to the DAS as fitted to the FC-31.

Side looking array has 600 TR modules, compared to the 358 on N036B of su-57.

Bottom there is no irst but it’s just a stand or frame base check other pictures/thread
