The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Wednesday formally announced serial production of the most advanced variant of JF-17 Thunder Block III – a 4.5-generation aircraft with far more advanced technology than IAF’s Rafael jets.

I think, they wanted to say world best by beating F22\ F35 but mistakenly mentioned Rafale.

not MKI, MKI is in heavy class where block-3 sits in light class so ther is no comparison between two, its a monster comparable to F-15, MK2 will fly in future, we will see, and Tejas MK-1A will be quite comparable to block-3 be real bro

Hold on to your pains and puns if I could suggest. Looking at India's desperation to fight, we can see Rafale vs PAF best jet in the near future.

If the Serial Production of the Block III has commenced..., it would indicate that atleast 2 or 3 Test-bed Demo Block III's must've been extensively busy in 2020.

Who knows that the last publicly displayed flight was conducted for finalized product.

We all saw pictures of the event in China in late 2019. So where the hell were these Test Flights taking place that not a single image got leaked (including Satellite imagery)?

I said it couple of years ago, can't remember correctly, Pakistan Armed Forces will follow path of secrecy like skunkworks. Doors, windows and even visitors; are shut to see or hear anything at all unless done.

It all depends on what role we are taking about.
For air-superiority mission then yes, the jf17-3 is superior to all of the above including Rafaels, due to aesa plus pl-15 combo.
If the comparison is for time on station or load carrying capacity then it's not.

Don't hype to much about block-3 f16 BLOCK-60/70 is one of the best 4 gen jet they have the experience of decades to design and develop AESA/PESA

Blk 3 will feature 3 array version of klj-7. Production delayed due to covid-19 and testing of rd-93MA. Air cooled version of klj-7A was dropped. This radar can utilize the MAX engagement range of pl-15 (240 km). We secured early shipments of pl-15 and pl-10 last year.

As a matter of point, PAF has not stated which of the 3 variants of the KL7A they decided to go for in the end and it will be a matter of debate for years as we go around in circles on this matter. It is all speculation until the ACM confirms it, that is pretty much the history of all procurements within the PAF.

Yes. There were some heating issues apparently with the air-cooled version. One of the reasons the testing period extended.
