The fact is no one really knows what the Block 3 will incorporate and the ones who know are not talking. The lag between first flight and batch production points to further testing and incorporation of newer tech/ minor design changes/increased weapons carriage but unlike Block 2 it is not being done mid block so must be a fairly major reworking of the design needing testing. So we have to wait for another year before we know some more snipppets of information.

I agree broadly. I look for Chinese sources as they are closer to actual thing (at least this is what I think of them )... Lag is also an indicator that major changes you pointed out can very well be the engine (Speculated), cockpit (speculated), EW Suite (speculated), radar (Confirmed), New HUD (Confirmed) ... I am looking for a surprise like we had back in 2004 when Prototype 4 flew with DSI inlet and if all speculated items are indeed get improved, it will be a bigger surprise than that. But, you are dead right in saying that only way to confirm all this will be to wait and watch till final production prototype comes out.

3 more differences I can see or may be its just me.

Different Engine Inlet.
One inlet on the root of vertical tail section.
The nose cone is bigger while censor tube moved back closed to canopy in 3000 as compare to block two.
A MAW on engine inlet/DSI?
A more broader/wide/enlarged inlet to accommodate new hard point... the space is visible and can be seen.
