JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

Hmmm so if BLK III can match SU 30 MKIs and Rafales then we can say that there will be 250 odd jets which have the potential to face India's top fighters
No, its not about matching and unmatching but its its about to develop tactics against MKI and RAFALE, we already develop a tactics against MKI in various PAK-China joint exercise, now its time to develop the tactics against RAFALE

After watching block 3 i have no issue to call every old JF-17 block 3...there is absolutely no difference in between them

Well, the good thing is with this design Block-1 and Block-2 can be upgraded to Block-3.

Imagine that:
  1. 50 from Block-1 upgraded to Block-3
  2. 62 single seaters from Block-2 upgraded to Block-3
  3. 50 Block-3
At least 162 single seat Block-3s.

First of all, Congrats everyone...:pakistan:

Now coming to blk-3, as long there are good advancements in electronics and internals of the fighter which makes it more formidable than previous blocks, its a great achievement.

I think key will be to keep on improving, like f-16 blocks. There should be blk-4 and so if even more improvements are available..

As for a new fighter, different shapes and all, imo there is the AZM project. Lets hope we have funds for that in sufficient amount, so that there isn't any stalling. Hopefully if economy improves and regional situation stays fairly stalled, we will see alot more..

Atleast RD 93 MA should had been there and HMD/S
no engine confirmation so far lets wait and see, but @Dazzler sir already hinted that engine is Chinese WS-13E based on appearance of Engine from these pics and HMD/S is not necessary tested in first flight of the Jet, first flights often check general system of avionics and how behave new air frame

I font know why is everyone is so disappointed by the shape of b3.
U guys expect so much and the remaining
wishes are made by keyboard warriors.
Shape was never going to be changed lokk at f-16 from blk15 to blk70 its same with minor changes so for godsake stop this bashing.
the changes that can be viewed are
HUD
MAWS on front and on tail top
More use of Composite
Nose
no sensors under the nose as previous blocks
Some sensors on spine.

Bravo is dual seater Block-2. This is single seater Block-3.

We haven't seen a Bravo dual seater Block-3.
But Block-2 single seater has also lacks swept back tails, and some one 2 year back told us that the B-3 will be based on dual seater block-2 which have swept back tail

It's not about how many jets you can hypothetically upgrade to blk 3 standards. It's about what a blk 3 standard has to offer against the likes of MKI and Rafale.

Now lets just wait on radar and engine confirmation. Might be wishful thinking but I suspect it could be the KLJ-7A variant with side facing antenna's. This is only the first prototype, there will be more subsystems to integrate.
