JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

As per Maverick in latest video on block 3, engine is improved with FADEC and is already smoke less with improvement coming from Pakistani engineers. No mention of any increased thurst of engine. But definitely engine is improved over the time. I will definitely look for increased thurst to cater to AESA radar and better payload handling. Can anybody with detail shed some light.

One factor in play is CAC/AVIC. They might have told the PAF this can be an option right from the start and they spelled out the time and cost savings of the route.
Correct, it saves the time and effort by not having 2 seperate manufacturing lines and costs. One airframe which can serve as jf-17b or jf-17 block 3.

if this is true and i assume it is, then JFT blk3 will have more than +3000Kg of internal fuel for sure assuming 2nd seat is eliminated. provided it adds two HP under the modified air intake, with AESA, OTS and other avionics upgrade, it will evolve into a good multi role platform to deliver all 4.5 Gen needs of PAF.

If the engine is an improvement over the previous Blocks and provides JF-17 Block-lll Thunders with fuel efficiency, greater acceleration and allows the aircraft to carry more fuel and weapons, then Thunder Block-lll would prove to be a great asset for Pakistan Air Force.

and this innovation and improvement could be used to replace aging mirage 3/5 fleet. provided it has improved engine and higher external load capacity. if all of the above is true, we could see more blk 3 beyond initial 50. however blk 1 and 2 also need to be upgraded with aesa and other goodies. and that is where 2nd aesa radar comes into play. after all there will be appx. 140-150 example of blk 1 [48] , 2 [62] and B [30 -40] version needing new radar and avionics upgrade.

Hum 2D say 3D main jaa rahain Hain it can mean 3 axis digital fly by wire better holographic hud JHMCS with
with off boresight missile
Better radar can mean aesa radar
if we read between the lines we can imagine BLK III specs
And software humara hay iss liya hum koyee air to air aur air to ground weapon
integrate kar saktee Hain it means block ii
May be able to fire pl 15

rafale kay muqable main jft blk iii laa rahe hain ab mery nazdeek yeh jisaarat hai lekin we have to trust our professionals on this or should we

Blk3 has differences from B model. Notice more composites in the b3 all the way to the forward fuselage below cockpit, serial numbers, spine harnesses for avionics, fbw and fuel pipe for IFR. Also note thicker wing tip which is absent in 601/3.

Sorry in case I missed it, but why are you so sure, this is the Block 3 prototype especially since that airframe is clearly labelled BCxxxx?
