JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

.
I also though or was of the opinion that Block-III was going to have a single MFD, similar to one proposed for Gripen-NG or had seen it as someone's wishful thinking.

Hopefully these are touch screen as had read that PAF Pilots wanted it and would like to have ability of Touch Screen.

Its the other way around. KLJ-7A is the forerunner for block 3. Grifo E is the least likely candidate for obvious reasons - incompatibility with its main air to air weapons - SD-10A/pl-15/ Pl-10.

The three types of helmet, including a helmet viewfinder (HMD), used by the J-20 pilots. At right is the TK-31 dedicated to training. The middle one is also used by Chinese Su-35 pilots.

TK-31 likely pick for blk 3.

We need to make jf 17 better or on par with any latest light weight multi tole 4th gen aircraft
IMO, JF-17 proved it's worth greater than and stands above the expectation of the professionals, who are dealing with this aircraft.

Why do we want stealth version of jf 17 when we have project azm going on.
Stealthiness is a feature, directly proportional to the advantage in battles. It also proved on 27 Feb, when even so called Indian mantra of 'Mini Awacs' to SU-30MKI miserably failed and they are still in shock and till now appearing regularly with their lame excuses for face saving.

Jf 17 is doing great in its category and it cant be stealth

We will have to do wholesome changes to the design to maje it stealth better make another stealth aircraft

To fine tune a machine some modifications and tweaking always there.
IMO there will be no major changes in airframe of JF-17, potentially it seems to be based on JF-17B with single cockpit.
Definitely PAC will do all their best to plan/design/production under project AZM for PAF requirement/innovation/ideas.

J-10C i believe, it will carry the same DAS as well as maws sensor.

what is DAS?

1. Seems the idea of placing an IRST in the JF-17 fell-off after 2015. It'd be useful, but it's not essential to any of the PAF's air warfare scenarios. The priority has been AESA radars, integrated EW/ECM, and HMD/S.

2. The Leonardo BriteCloud is on offer to the PAF, but neither the PAF or Leonardo brought it up. That said, it's a small thing that the PAF could end up buying in limited numbers, but again, not a priority.

3. Depends on Chinese developments.

4. Depends on Chinese developments.
IRST is not priority and its use remains a question mark; for dedicated fighters, there is definitely advantages but trying to make jf-17 into an all round machine is overstreching priority; in block 4, this could be taken up then

Jf-17 block 1or 2 ,,,, Jf-17b ,,,, and possibly jf-17 block 3 at PAC Kamra in April-19 Google satellite imagery.

Clear difference of length is visible in aircraft no. 1 , no.2

And canopy length and width difference visible in 3rd aircraft.
Is it possibly jf-17 blk 3 (aircraft no.2) ?
zoom the image to see the length details, i've added in the upper images.
