JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

I really don't understand all that unrealistic hype and downrating the J-10C :hitwall::crazy:... The current J-10C with its integrated EW-system, AESA radar and weapon options is far more capable than any JF-17 will ever be.

What is the combat radius of J-10C (With and without fuel tanks)?

To counter Rafale, JF-17 block 3 needs to be slightly lighter in weight, best radar, weapons/long range AAM and best EW suite.
Block 4 can be Dual engine fighter based on Jf-17.
I don't think Block 4 will dual engine. but i will be design keep in mind to counter Rafale. I think PAF should split block 4 into new medium weight fighter with dual engine.

in next 5 year JF-17 Block 4 will be around the corner or atleast in design phase InshaAllah

Oh, come on guys ... there will be no Block within the next 5 years and even more unlikely will it be a twin-engined fighter. As if aeronautical engineering is a plug-and-play game.

Honestly, do we really need to spam each Block-03 related thread with fan-boy theories on twin engined, semi-stealthy and BETTER Block-04 variants?? :hitwall::crazy:

A Block 4 is possible in 5 years. May be with upgraded electronics and some other changes - like Block 1 to Block 2.

But no twin engine or stealth features or any major structural changes - that make it a whole new aircraft. For that, I think PAF is looking at Project Azm.

Given previous distance between blocks, 5 years after Block 3 sounds plausible. Right now, they are busy with B version and Block 3. But that doesn't stop requirements and specifications being discussed for a later block. Remember, the end user isn't just Pakistan, but Myanmar and Nigeria as well.

In a comment, user messiach said if someone wants to see the future of Thunder, they should follow Jian-10B. This comment was made before the TVC J-10B was revealed at the airshow.

Now, TVC increase chances of engine failure, so it is highly unlikely to be used as single engine, other than for demo purposes.

All of the above is mere speculation on my part except where I quoted messiach.

not bad . paf is really impressed by J 10 c ew capabilities . sir @Rafi has said it in another thread

Totally agree with sir Rafi. Rather then hypothesis,we must look for our next combat needs against Rafale ,F35 ,SU etc. Current Chinese J-10 Cew capabilities ,is best option.
Does J-10 c ew carries full stealth capabilities?

You just repeated what i said in your own word.

There is no JF-1 Block-4 so please, keep it out of here. Visit Project Azm thread, to refer future block/new AC discussion.

Regards,
Project AZM wouldn't be ready in next 5 years and by that time PAF will already have 50 of block 3. PAF would not more then 50 of same block and need is at least 250. And I think jf17 production would not stop even after AZM. Project AZM is whole new level of fighter and mature eventually like thunder.

We shud work onlines of f 15x which has just been ordered by USA...

Yes semi stealth is possible... Jf 17x silent thunder

After blk-3 there will be no further block of JF-17 as previous ACM says, we are developing Project AZM @Mrc :disagree:

There is no harm considering a semi stealth variant of a cheap and reliable platform...

Even USA is doing that with f 15x... They have just placed first order for 150 planes .

This shud not replace project azm but techs developed for azm can also be utilized here.

I know there is no such plan for now atleast
