JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

your right, it is 3 times over. but regardless, 3 times over is enough to give modi m'rrorrs & uncontrollable diarrhea 6 time over!

BTW we do have dose of 6 times...both in warheads and delivery system:p:

Naa Kaka.
They will line them up in a straight line and inform you which base they are on and advise you to come at a time when they can go for lunch and turn all the radars off! @#$%.
It is not so easy to destroy planes while they are on the ground. Sooner or later you will have to face them and fight. The likely outcome will either be lobbing of BVRs from a safe distance or a stand off. You do not understand what the loss of a Rafale would do to the morale of the IAF OR for that matter the loss of A block 52 to the PAF unless it isapne on one destruction ie a block 52 takes down a Rafale while going down itself.

Well, in theory all it needs is taking out Indian AWACS to win an air war. Willing to be IAF would be absolutely ravaged in the sky without AWACS support.

OK. Is it only me or anyone else also has this uncomfortable feeling that Block-3 is facing delays. First quarter of 2020 has passed and we didn't hear anything other than that first flight of a prototype which all of us know was not final Block-3. Now as per many members here, 2 final versions were to be developed and inducted into PAF by the end of the year. I might sound little pessimistic here but i certainly am uncomfortable with the progress of things. There is no way on earth, had it flown more after that first flight and we couldn't have find it by now. So, anyinput on this from our Chinese friends?

For psychological purposes, PAF will try and delay the public unveiling of Block-3 to co-incide with the arrival of Rafale in India.

well last year after losing 2 aircrafts, a chopper & dozens of posts along the loc, the indians did threaten to use the brahmos & even brought them close but our threat to retaliate with 6 times the intensity ran icy cold gow muttar down their spines...

At one stage, India threatened to fire at least six missiles at Pakistan, and Islamabad said it would respond with its own missile strikes "three times over", according to Western diplomats and government sources in New Delhi, Islamabad and Washington.

How many will arrive in India initially? How many will then arrive after initial arrival? Will PAF get delivered more Thunders at the timr India would be getting remaining Rafales?

Why Pakistan does not make special purpose missiles to destroy AWACS, like integrate SD-10 with a short range ballistic missile. Is it possible?

China is developing 400km missile for that. I would rather destroy them on the ground, they can run away from all current BVRAAMS in service.

I think Pakistan's AWACS will be destroyed earlier in next conflict.
Nope, if PAF can have sufficient fighters guarding it then it will be close to impossible to hit them. Not sure you know much about this topic, go to Quora and read there please

Don't know the time frame for the Rafale's arrival in India and in how many batches but eventually down the years PAF JF-17 Thunder Block-3s will outnumber Rafales.

Imagine this, by 2025-2035 PAF will be producing it's own Thunders while India will be still importing its contender, the Rafales. Checkmate.

Yes i have multiple option in my mind for countering AWACS but PL-15 has not enough range to target AWACS most AWACS radar range is more then 400 Km, and PL-15 has range of 150 -200 Km, that's means AWACS can safely fly at 250-300 km away from Battlefield and has still a view of battlefield, PAF need ultra long range BVR to tackle AWACS like Russian K-172/R-37 with range of 350-400 km, which currently Chinese working on it called VLRAAM (very long range air to air missiles) but i thinks its is to big for JF-17 here is the pic of it

Its PL21 (also called PL20 at few places)

Reading above posts, is it not a big joke that JF 17-Block3 has Radar range of 85 / 170 km ??? and still most important Engine is a hidden secret . This Block-3 is in flights now but still information about item of Engine is unknown. Some says it is Russuaan RD 93 type and other say WS-13 E type ??
Why no body ,especially PAC is hesitating to talk on any feature. Just speculations??
Please do not make fun/joke it is a national security issue.

They'll talk when the testing & integration is done.

Kindly answer following 2 questions.
1-Indian knows the specifications of JF-17 B3. They claim their latest Teja is best fighter then why are Indians buying French made Rafale fighters. They also have British Jaguar and some Sweesish fighters too .Why Indian play games ??
2-A few months ago Pakistani Defence authorities signed with Russian to buy used Mig/Su fighters. Is PAF planning to get their Engines (RD type) for JF-17 or PAC plan to upgrade them like Mirage 5 ?

Total rubbish. Tejas were not even accepted by IAF. They rejected them in 2015.

No,

1 - They don’t know for certain neither do we, but given the advances China has made, and the teaser we got through the advanced HUD of B3 possibly from J-10C and similar to J-20, one would automatically presume that avionics wise, B3 wouldn’t be behind as well, especially since China has mastered the development of State of the art AESA radars, top notch in the world (GaN is debatable).

Meanwhile, We definitely know what Tejas will have, we know it and we have played accordingly, They buy off the shelf, we buy and optimize, that’s the difference.

2 - No, No, No, Dont know where you heard this, perhaps fanboy youtube videos and articles shouldn’t be given attention to, I would advise you against these videos on youtube claiming big. We are not in the process of procuring any Russian Fighter neither does the foreseeable future suggests so, As for the engines, We don’t need to buy russian fighters in order to get engines, No, We simply buy engines directly.
