what many people are missing is that it is reported by a waqay nagar[Urdu word] which mean Event Reporter so don't dismiss this news just as rubbish as the journalist is reporting about the event of PAF in which he could only get access through invitation, and of course it was the event about which he has no understanding ..... so ignore his garbish style of reporting but don't dismiss the event which he is reporting .... wait for some other source to report may be Janes perhapes .....

When major newspapers start reporting something like this then it is usually intentional by the higher-ups. I wouldn't be surprised that Block-III has been in service for a few months already. Military only releases information when it wants to.

China has acquired Ukrainian Aero Engine Giant “Motor Sich Aero Engines”.

China was previously a stakeholder in the company. This acquisition will result in getting more assistance and required expertise to deploy even more advanced engines.

your translation misses the word block-3. Actually the news piece specifically mentions that block-3 has been operationalized and inducted by PAF after successful test flights. The language used also implies that only 1 example has so far been inducted.

Now, how accurate this new is, is anybody's guess. But in general Jang is a reputable newspaper and usually would not put such a news item unless an official source gave the information. Although it is possible the report contains errors dues to the reporter's lack of grasp on such matters (possibly).

Even if it is as simple as most fanboys think it is, a higher thrust engine would consume more fuel and reduce the range of an already short legged plane even further.

Its not as simple as just sticking a higher thrust engine onto the plane.... you have to test, re-test and re-re-test whether the structural integrity of the aircraft is not impacted in anyway due to the higher load from the thrust.


Also higher thrust means the engine will require greater amount of fuel to burn, the combat radius of the jet will diminish if you just add a higher thrust engine without provisioning for greater fuel capacity.

You're absolutely correct. Jang has always been the official Government mouth piece.

Try to extract any previous of jang defense related news and note the date, match it with the similar event data on pdf/your brain. If jang proves worth in past, then we have some potential in this news.
