UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan’s Envoy to the United Nations (UN) Abdullah Hussain Haroon on Wednesday told the UN General Assembly that Palestinians should not be expected to negotiate when their land is taken over in the name of “new settlements.”

Pakistan has made a fervent call on the international community to help break the stalemate in the Middle East peace process resulting from Israel’s policy of building Jewish settlements on occupied Palestinian territories.

Haroon said that settlement activity and the peace process cannot move together.
The envoy reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Palestine’s struggle for the right to independence. He said that the peace process leading to a final settlement was stalled by the Israeli regime’s constant expansionist policy.

He said there was no reversal in the deteriorating living conditions in the occupied Palestinian territory, while Israeli defiance of the international community on the issue of settlements and its high level of impunity were destroying the peace process and inflicting innumerable hardships on the Palestinian people under its illegal occupation.

The envoy called on Israel to ease its blockade of Gaza and to allow the free flow of people and commerce.

The present stalemate in the peace process could not be broken without sustained and meaningful engagement by the international community, said Haroon, emphasizing that it was important for the international community to work on halting Israeli settlement and helping Palestinians strengthen state and institution building.

Haroon said that Palestine should also be ensured of a progress on the status of the UN membership application.

Lasting solutions to the wider Arab-Israeli conflict were essential to comprehensive peace in the Middle East, the envoy said, stressing that it was imperative to address its root cause, the Israeli occupation of Arab territories.

People of all races and religions in the Middle East had suffered for the last six decades, he pointed out, underscoring the need for concerted action and political will to build a lasting peace that could save succeeding generations from the tragedies and tribulations of their ill fated predecessors.

Whilst i am all for Palestinian rights, i can not understand why we wish to make enemies for people who don't give a s*hit about us! When was the last time Egypt or Syria or the rest of our so called Arab Muslim Ikhwanis gave a crap about their Muslim brothers in Kashmir.
They don`t. India is richer.

I don't know about Syria because they have always been pro-India, but Egyptian leader Gamal Abdul Nasser blocked off the Suez Canal to the British when they were trying to supply India with weapons in the war of 1965.

Just saying we should not be ungrateful.

There are many more things to add to what RazPak and PNationalist pointed, but I believe on one principle and that's following the orders of Prophet Muhammed [P.B.U.H] which is no matter what MUSLIMS ARE ONE NATION!, whether anyone likes it or not. Period.

Hm, is this true? i was unaware of this, thanks. I am basing my judgement on my interactions with arabs e.g. a local arab mosque i go to, they dont make dua for Kashmir or Chechnya, they pray for their ikhwani in Syria and Libya etc, you go to any Paksitani mosque and along with Kashmir the first thing they will pray for is Palestine. Just feels like we feel so strongly for these people yet they dont give a rats about us. Recently on another forum a question came up on who should kashmir go with and much to my surprise most arabs abstained or voted for India, i was pretty dumbstruck. I guess im still recovering from that.

Brother, I would advice you to not judge all Muslims on the bases of your limited experience :)

I couldn't find the exact reference of that Hadith but this will help :)

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم described the Ummah as one body; if one member becomes sick then the other members of this one body will take care of the sick one:

"The Believers, in their mutual love, mercy and compassion, are like one body: if one organ complained, the rest of the body develops a fever." [Bukhari & Muslim]

“The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islamic religion)” [al-Hujuraat 49:10].

“The believers, men and women, are Awliyaa’ (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another” [al-Tawbah 9:71].

It was narrated from Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) said: “No one of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (13) and Muslim (45).

It's okay bro. I am no supporter of the arabs, but I would die if Pakistanis were viewed as people that do not accept the help that some nations have given us. I am ignorant about many matters, and that's why I joined this forum, so I could learn.

Assalam alaikum

mashaAllah brothers have done a good job and i m glad u also acknowledged it. jazak Allah

Brother i agree with u most arab donot know about the kashmir issue and u have to remember egypt syria iraq all those countries were under the influence of soviet union so they were normally close to india and india also when come to muslim countries tell they have a large population of muslims. if u goto makkah u will hear dua for kashmir etc
all those arab countries were ruled by dictators. but i can tell u now it is changing these ppl started to know their real enemies and know about kashmir issue

i lived most of my life with arabs and they always mention kashmir.

but let me add, while kashmir is very importand issue but there is no issue like palestine coz it has our 1st qiblah , it was 1st liberated during Omar r-a, after it was captured by crusaders another muslim salah uddine ( btw he was a kurd not arab ) spent years after years preparing and fighting to take it back again.

Our Prophet pbuh have gone to miraj from alaqsa masjid and if u remember the building we see with golden tomb has the rock from where our beloved Prophet went to meet his Allah. most of us wrongly think it is the alaqsa masjid while it is not a masjid

maybe there r many muslims who never heard about kashmir but i very much doubt if no muslim have not heard about alaqsa masjid. so never compare kashmir with palestine and if somebody doesnot know about kashmir it is our duty to tell about that issue

palestine is a blessed land according to our Prophet pbuh

i hope and pray we could see palestine and kashmir liberated in our life time ameen
