What's new

Jesus Christ has no mention in history : PM IMRAN Khan

I believe you are talking abt ibn ishaqs sirat rasul Allah..it got as much reliability as bible or Ramayana

It's more reliable than both of those texts by a pretty significant margin for various reasons (e.g more closely connected to the events it narrates, hasn't been tampered with over time, the author tries to be as critical as possible, etc).

that guy tells so many fairy tales about Mohammed that even Mohammed would have laughed if he had heard them..I can't quote them lest I will be banned

That's part of the reason why it's such an important text. He wrote down just about everything he could find, regardless of its authenticity. Later scholars determined what was correct, what was wrong, and what can be disputed. Most of Ibn Ishaq's biography falls into the first and third categories.

only facts we could know about Mohammed were from Quran..everything outside of it is not at all reliable..

No, as said before, the contrary can easily be proven. Watch the video I linked from Dr Jonathan Brown and read this:

https://www.islamic-awareness.org/hadith/

they say sirat was written nearly 100 years after Mohammed's death..100 years was a long period of time in a desert...and the first hadees that was compiled was
200 years after Mohammed...I repeat... Very little is known of Mohammed (i am not denying he existed

You really, REALLY need to learn more about the topic at hand. It isn't that simple.

Guys, again you are jumping up and down without verifying the whole video of what IK was trying say, and without verifying if the video is fake or if it has been edited. There is a full blown out media war against Pakistan, there is 99.99% fake news floating around. And you guys are unfortunately falling into this trap again and again.:rolleyes:

What is wrong for what he stated

  • There is not sufficient account of his historical references in large quantity
  • Compared to other Prophets , his accounts in history are not as many

He did not said there their is no account he said , there is not enough material on his personal day to day life

People are not even sure if he was black or white

No need to defend him.

Not defending , but clarification
Not having documented history is a real argument.
And Imran stated there is some evidence but not as much compared to other prophets of past

a) Do we know who Jesus Mother was in depth
b) What did Jesus do as child ?
c) Who were his friends ?
d) What was his favorite sports?
e) Was he married ?
f) Which education he received ?
g) Did he ever refer to himself as Christ
h) Was he good in science subjects or was he a good talker
i) Did he revel in any sports , horse riding etc
j) Where was he burried ?
l) Who was Mary Magdalene hmmm same name as his mother
j) Is there any evidence of Jesus participating in war , his sword or other artifact
k) What was his life like as a orphan
l) Was did he liked to eat ?
m) What was his profession ? How much he earned for daily wages

I doubt there was anything out of ordinary stated in his argument

A pretty significant amount of his life is known, even outside of the hadees. The siyar (which most historians prefer to use) contains plenty of facts about him.

Not all of them, and those that do know next to nothing about them.

Salamu Alaikum

For various reasons, those accounts cannot be trusted.

He never said all of Christianity is a lie, he only said what many historians regard as fact. Jesus (peace be upon him) really doesn't have any reliable historical evidence of his existence.

No it doesn't. We only believe in Jesus (peace be upon him) because the Quran says he was real. The real question becomes you should be asking is why do Muslims believe in the Quran? And the answer varies from person to person, but I find these sources to give some good arguments:

Probably another faker, Christian missionaries do this a lot:

He will be an idiot, because the historical evidence for him is overwhelming.
Forget evidence...If some one inside pakistan says that prophet muhammad was imaginary or he was not a prophet at all... will he be charged under blasphemy law ? That exactly Asia bibi said for which she was under jail for 10 years ? Right ?

@Horus @The Eagle correct me if I am wrong, but discourse on religion and associated lines is not permitted in the forum rules. Please close thread, we all know why it was created!

It was Tabari, not Ibn e Ishaq who wrote down just about everything he could find regardless of it's authenticity.

Ibn e Ishaq actually didn't write down any thing. He just collected oral traditions related to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and orally dictated them to his pupils, a few of whom (Ibn e Hisham most notably) compiled them in book form later on. Ibn e Ishaq is generally considered Reliable

ibn ishaqs sirat rasul Allah..it got as much reliability as bible or Ramayana...

While some scholars (mostly Christian) have argued that Muslim Hadith/Sirat is only as much reliable as the Bible, a claim that can be easily refuted, Ramayana has no historical basis whatsoever ..

People with power and lots of publicity should stay away from making controversial/sensitive comments about important religious figures in religions they are not members of. simple.
