Javed Hashmi, daughter resign from NA, demand fresh elections
Published: December 29, 2011
ISLAMABAD: Latest Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf recruit, Javed Hashmi announced his resignation from the National Assembly on Thursday evening.
Speaking to media men outside the parliament, Hashmi announced his resignation from the National Assembly. He further called on the ruling government to consult with all political groups, in and outside the Assembly and announce a date for new elections soon.
The five-time MNA contended that since there were would be now 47 seats in the assembly which would be vacated, given the resignations expected and it would not be possible to hold elections just for these seats, adding that other members than the expected 47 too were resigning. He suggested that the better option was that if the government announced fresh elections for the national assembly, “It is impossible to conduct elections on 47 empty seats.”
Javed Hashmi ‘s daughter, Momina Hashmi too resigned from her NA seat.
Explaining his resignation, Hashmi said that he was not consulted on any matter and he did not want to come to the assembly just to pick up a pay cheque. He added that he wanted to work for the people of Pakistan.
Relations with PML-N
Hashmi said that while he had resigned from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), he maintained personal relations with Nawaz Sharif, and these will continue.
He added that if one’s own party shuns them, then one would have to reconsider their position in the party.
Hashmi had last week announced his decision to quit the PML-N in favour of Imran Khan’s PTI.
He said that the PML-N chief was trying desperately to win back recent defectors, offering various party positions.

I’m Very much disappointed by JHs resignation from PMLN (for both entities).

He still needs to articulate to his sympathizers (in PMLN) the valid reasons for doing this…i/o mere saying that PTI offers slightly better platform……this is the last thing any politician with the likes of your caliber say that while passed out his matured life and energies in a platform of your choice in your age.

No doubt IK (for whatever reasons) make an opportunity for him and there is a high wind blowing for turncoats to abandon their positions but not U Mr. Hashmi….!! It’s been least expected.

For me, you simply damage your cause further; One by not opting to go all-out against NS while you still in PMLN and than more on…….when you finally decides to resigns.. you again and still want to maintain some sort of good relationships with your ex-boss...again for future political gains or afterthoughts whenever they might arises!!!

Sure, Its all signaling at only one end that, You too are a cunning politician who at best are opportunists….BUT Inqilabi, Revolutionary or……BAGHI…!!!

That is indeed the biggest problem with PPP and PML. Party positions are offered to people based on their loyalties to Nawaz rather than merit. and Nawaz's family being the chief financier n sole decision maker, makes these parties mafias.

He doesn't owe anyone an explanation. He moved away from a family run political mafia.

The man spent years in jail for the Sharif Party/Family, while the Sharif brothers ran away from the country to do business in Saudi/UK, the least they could have done was to make him the Chief minister of Punjab. After coming to power in punjab and ignoring him for a good 4 years, they still expect him to remain a loyalist.

But no...the chief minister position is for reserved for the little brother in the family.

When will people wake up?
