MULTAN: Suspended by his party following allegations against Imran Khan, the estranged elected president of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Javed Hashmi announced on Wednesday his resignation from the party presidency and its membership.

Hashmi said that he could no longer continue his membership with a party 'conspiring' to dismantle democracy in Pakistan.

"There are a few hypocrites with Imran," Hashmi said adding, "I have told him the bad times have begun for his party."

Earlier, PTI had suspended the membership of Hashmi and had summoned him to the party secretariat to explain his case on September 29.

Speaking to Dawn, PTI leader Shafqat Mehmood said Hashmi had failed to explain his position as asked by the PTI. "The party will take appropriate action in this case," he said.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan had earlier announced that he had parted ways with Hashmi for opposing the march on the Prime Minister`s House.

During his speech on the floor of Parliament on September 2, Hashmi had clarified that despite his differences with the party’s high command, he was still PTI’s democratically elected president.

In the memorable speech to the joint session of Parliament, the seasoned politician had claimed that no PTI MNA had willingly tendered resignation to the party leadership and that a system existed in the country “to engineer making and breaking of governments.”

He made the claims shortly after disclosing “a scripted plan to overthrow the government, using violent protests as a pretext.”

Hashmi had accused Imran Khan of bypassing a decision of the PTI’s core committee not to join Dr Tahirul Qadri’s march on Prime Minister’s House after receiving a message from ‘somewhere’.

Javed Hashmi resigns as PTI president

MULTAN: Seasoned politician and former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf president Javed Hashmi on Wednesday announced his resignation from the party presidency, Express News reported.

“I have sent my resignation to the PTI leadership,” said Hashmi, who was recently suspendedfrom the PTI and is facing an enquiry by the party’s disciplinary committee for repeated statements against the PTI leadership.

“I do not want to be a part of a party that is conspiring to derail democracy in the country,” he asserted.

The disgruntled leader who had a recent fallout with PTI chairman Imran Khan over his decision to march towards the Prime Minister House in the Red Zone area of Islamabad, repeatedly alleged that the chief was being “used” by his party members.

Hashmi had also earlier hinted that a “third” force was behind the PTI’s ongoing sit-in to overthrow the incumbent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government.

Earlier, the politician submitted his nomination papers for by-polls in NA-149 as an independent candidate cutting all links from the PTI.

First puts damning allegations on his own party as president, starts mud slinging against his own party, takes them back and then expects that people will accept him back.... good riddance of this trash of a person.

Just yesterday he was keen to join PTI's upcoming Multan jalsa and today he resigned. This budha has completely lost it.

So, finally the end of the political journey of Hashmi shab.

Price was very less, it was a national interest matter and two important organisation were involved allegedly. Judiciary and Army.

Later backed out from the Judiciary Claim and also later said, Army saved democracy for the first time.

Make your mind up you donut. Finally things are getting clearer, you had your time.

i really dont get it. If you go back and see his first interview to GEO and Express after the descent, he praised all the top leadership individually whenever he was asked a question regarding particular personalities. At that time it was the retired generals who were pulling the strings while core committee was not listened to by IK. Later retired army generals disappeared and he started to criticising top leadership of PTI. If I take this trend forward then soon he'll start criticising IK for having ulterior motives as well.
