There were innovative in war doctrines and it's no more. Besides there's no point in Japan to go to war path with China unless US in involved. So nothing much to brag about.

Japanese forces are still the strongest in the Pacific. Now they are building their navy at a faster rate.

It is a good initiative by Japan. China is very assertive in its foreign policy goals and sends Naval vessels frequently to disputed islands between Japan and China.This gun boat diplomacy as exercised by China is disturbing to many countries in South East Asian countries-meek response. Japan need to abandon its pacifist policy and stand up to bullying by China.This will then provide confidence to other countries in the region.STAND UP JAPAN

I think Japan has 4 (may be it is 5 including the new one)helicopter destroyers...whats so alarming about it??Japan has these for years..and its well known that once they get F-35,they'll operate those form these ships..but real news will be then when they'll again start operating their Aircraft Carriers..they showed the real power of Aircraft Carrier to the world..hats off to them...

no doubt about Japan's heinous crime,but all of the Allied countries too lost their moral ground to judge Japan,as they did the same thing..they too killed millions of civilians and raped many women..not to mention the cultural invasion and even made other previously free countries their own colony..they showed same kind of aggressive mentality in the post WW 2 world..by the way,don't be alarmed as Japan is still in the infant stage of aggression as its their own constitution bar them to procure offensive military equipment.

The spratly and paracel islands consist of "the world" to you, and because it is a disputed territory with China (a bilateral issue), you go whining to more powerful countries and try to drag them in and claim China is taking over the world when you don't get what you want. China has not claimed one inch beyond the territories that were disputed since the 1940s. You all cry about China's assertiveness and ignore the fact that the disputed territories date back to colonial times, the British took over South Tibet and Aksai Chin from China while the French disputed the Spratly islands with China.

A bunch of bull. Sure there were a few atrocities committed, but let's not forget that the Allies were fighting because they were ATTACKED. Comparing Nazi Germany or Japan with the UK, France, or the USA is ignorant at best.

In fact, let's not for one second forget that there was a time when the only nuclear power on the planet was the United States of America. We could have just started running around annexing entire nations if we wanted too, yet we chose not to. We could have nuked China during the Korean war, without reprise, yet we chose not to.

coz next 5 years PLAN warship strength will improve twice, next 10 years PLAN will be the largest Navy Power in Asia as equal as U.S Navy 7th fleet.

In 5 years you're going to double your entire warship strength? List the new classes that are going to be placed into commission from now until 2018. No way in hell are you guys going to double the number of war-fighting ships in 5 years, or even 10.
