Japan to Refocus Military on China

Technology is an interesting thing. You might want to consider how the Japanese still rely on the US for their aerospace technology and don't even have the ability to independently manufacture cruise missiles or SAM, and their type 90 tank is far overbudget with inferior statistics compared to type 99.

In terms of Israel vs. Arabs, you might want to consider this: neither israel or arabs can manufacture their own stuff so whoever bought the best technology wins, and since you're buying, you'll run out of money eventually. But manufacturing is also a technology, and things change when you can put a destroyer in the water every 3 days as opposed to the enemy's 1 month and have missiles coming out of factories like pencils while the enemy nation has to buy.

Are you saying the U.S. would not supply Japan with the best arms ? Considering at that point it would be a direct threat to U.S. interests. Like it did with Israel. There were also other factors like quality of training that played a role in that conflict as well. I have not looked into their tank forces but the new type 10 the Japanese came out with is quite impressive especially in its Armor.

If you look at their air force though you will see that specially have the F-4s and F-2s modified to carry their ASM-2s and that could potentially negate Chinese naval measures. I can bet they would have their F-15DJs escorting them.

You are too naive or lights are not burning that bright upstairs.
Japan's size was never a problem, unfortunately. Its small size didt stop it from defeating Russia in 1912 or invading China in 1930's or dominating SE Asia for much of WWII. FYI take a look at their naval strength.

Remaining parts of your post qualify as delusions of a fanboi.

Tell me how is Japan going to handle thousands of incoming missiles launched at their tiny Island nation ?

Is Japan going to send Godzilla to intercept them all ? LOL

The only reason why Japan could defeat China during WW2 is because China was very poorly equipped militarily and backwards.
It was an unequal match and the outcome was obvious.

I assure you, if any of our main allies (yes, even you India) get attacked... we will hit them hard! :usflag:
If India engages in any war with anybody,we don't want US to poke their nose in between...:hitwall:
Just shut up...:pop:
Who the hell is US to help us..

Who the Hell cares about India ? Uncle SAM just wants to use "Help India" as an excuse to attack Pakistan and China.

Japan had committed horrible atrocities during World war II. Just type Japanese atrocities in Youtube, Wikipedia etc. It has never apologized contrary to Germany which still beg for pardon to France, Poland, Israel etc as well as bringing the nazis behind courts. However this has never been the case for Japanese war criminals who had brutally ordered the massacre of Chinese women and children during the Manchuria and Nanking invasion. Other attocities consist of vivisection, rape, inoculation of virus, massive burial etc. Thus Japan is fearful of China which mught seek revenge. Japan is the real Asian foe however it is being used by the US to contain CHina.:pakistan::pakistan::china:

China does not have 'thousands' of missiles to spare. You are confused between stockpile and allocation. Assume that X have one thousand bombs for defense, that is stockpile. But if X has enemies Y and potential enemy Z, X must allocate those bombs for war and for deterrence appropriate for each. Japan is not alone and China cannot afford to allocate all missiles towards Japan.

they'll TRY to supply. do you think that military supplies can be instantly transported? they'll be transported on ships. that takes time. manufacturing takes time.

again, you're mistaking China for some no name middle eastern state that can't manufacture its own weapons, and believes a "technical upgrade" and assembly of US arms is a major achievement! Yes, if both sides buy, then whoever buys the best toys will win. But only Japan is buying. We're not buying anything, we are making, and are constrained not by time of shipment or money or the lack of blockades or port facilities to handle supplies or the willingness of a foreign supplier, but only by raw materials.

Japan has no domestic oil supplies. it takes time. Do you think we have no countermeasures like the JH-7 for their ships, cruise missiles for their bases, J-10 and J-11 for their escorts? Are our nuclear submarines (yet another technology that certain middle eastern countries that only do assembly of US planes and that think adding some minor electronics to existing planes consist of "major technical breakthroughs" and are forced to even import missiles don't even dare dream about) just for show? Are our 400 km detection radars on the 052C (wow, I just keep coming up with more technology that this certain middle eastern nation just doesn't have and will never have!) just for show?

US Encouraging Pacifist Japan to Take a More Forceful Stance

The administration of Barack Obama, and the Government of the United States, in spite of resistance from professedly pacifistic Japan, are encouraging that Island nation, our greatest Asian ally, to a more aggressively defensive posture.
Japan is remorseful of past aggression, including the 1937 brutal assaults on China's capital city of Nanking, considered the worst Asian atrocity of the World War ll era. During six weeks of barbarism, 300,000 Chinese were killed. In the Japanese "Rape of Nanking," none, not even pregnant women, was spared. Media reports at the time said that bayonet practice on live prisoners and many other terrible atrocities were committed.

Japan is dedicated to peace and civility. She calls her military a "Self-Defense Force." But pragmatic too, she cannot ignore a need to turn her defensive attention from Russia, on the north, to points south and west of Japan. China is reported to have a "growing presence" near the disputed southernmost islands, known in Japan as Senkakus, in China as Diaoyu.
The United States, with its own view of world situations, is encouraging Japan to join with the U.S. military in new and ongoing exercises, partially in response to the North Korean shelling last month of Yeonpyeong Island. U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral "Mike" Mullen visited the region last week (December 8 and 9, 2010), where he met with Japan's Minister of Defense, Toshimi Kitazawa, and voiced the opinion that the two nations should work more closely together, this to include more joint military exercises. The U.S. makes reference to provocations by North Korea, and China’s growing assertiveness in the region. Specifically, the call is for "greater integration of Japan and United States military."
The United States’ plan calls for an increase in Japan’s submarine fleet, and the installment of new permanent military bases beyond Okinawa. Also called for are fighter jets and ground units with a capacity for quick response. There was initial resistance from Japan, particularly pertaining to the new airbase, but Japan's new Democratic Party government is now looking more favorably at the Unites States’ plan. Washington includes in the concept stronger three-way military ties with South Korea.
In related news, Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan is considering sending Japanese forces to the Korean Peninsula for several reasons, one of which is to search for Japanese known to have been abducted by North Korea in the 1970’s and the 1980’s.

Hey...it is Uncle SAM who said China has over 2000 Medium Range Missiles that can "attack" Taiwan or Japan.
