Japan: The Philippines' New Best Friend?

@Nihonjin1051 @Cossack25A1 @utp45
LOL ... you guys deliberately playing kid's talk or what? So entertaining to read though, no troll/abuse, great! Well maybe once in a while we can use some relax moment don't we bros?

Let me crash the party, back to the topic, it's good for both Japan & PH to deepen economic tie for mutual betterment. Like I said before, let's forget about any war, the worst might be some minor China-PH clashes at seas but I don't see that imminent either. My view is that now politicians are wrapping up their gaming plans, diplomats are collecting bargaining chips, all sides involved (not just CN, PH) would settle a deal when the time matures.

OK now let's resume your party!

Very sharp analysis, bro. As it stands, the policy of the Philippines will depend on who assumes the Presidency of that country come 2016. Either way; both Duterte and Binay seem pragmatic enough. Vice President Jejomar Binay is close to the Chinese-Filipino Chamber of Commerce, as is also to the Japanese Filipino Chamber of Commerce, both of whom are active in Makati and Manila City (where Binay served as Mayor). As for Rodrigo Duterte, who is mayor of Davao City (the largest city in the southern Philippines), he is also very close to Japanese Corporations who have settled in Davao and southern Mindanao; he is also very close to the Chinese Community in Davao. Either way, long term wise, seems to me that Japan and China can find cooperation with the Philippines.

Politics is politics, sure, but at the end of the day, i think all sides can find common ground for joint development. Look at Japan-China Dynamic -- we have contentions regarding territoriality, but at the end of the day we our trade levels are reaching $500 Billion (China(+Taiwan) and Japan). Strategy --- ain't it exciting, bro?

well aren't you planning to make another Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere though? it previously failed though.

if anything, i'd say Philippines should stay stick to their ASEAN member to keep the solidarity among the south east people.

i don't object Japan to absorb Philippines though. but if it did happened, indonesia might as well taking China into our alliance as well.

ASEAN is cheap talk box full of pro chinese dependance only Indonesia and Vietnam, Brunei and Philippines have an independent foreign policy the rest are chinese puppet dependance
