On the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor, Obama Has SICK Message for Victims of Japanese Attack
President Barack Obama’s apology tour cannot come to an end too soon. The Obama administration’s comments about the victims of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor are disrespectful and completely disgusting.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said
it was only natural for World War II veterans to feel “embittered” about the visit to Pearl Harbor by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Then Earnest indicated the WWII heroes should basically just get over it for the sake of America.
“If I were a World War II veteran who was drafted by the United States military to go and fight for our country overseas in the aftermath of the Pearl Harbor attack. I might feel quite embittered, and I think it would be a perfectly natural and understandable human reaction to not be particularly satisfied with the words of the Japanese prime minister,” Earnest said.
The Japanese prime minister will be touring the Pearl Harbor memorial with our president, Barack Obama.
Abe’s short statement about the visit said only he would pray for those who died in World War II,
BizPac Review notes.
“Yes, there may be some who feel personally embittered,” Earnest continued. “But I’m confident that many will set aside their own personal bitterness, not because they’re personally satisfied by the words of the prime minister, but because they recognize how important this moment is for the United States.”
Exactly why the visit of the Japanese prime minister is an important moment for the United States remains wholly unclear. Simply because Abe is the first prime minister from the island nation to visit Pearl Harbor does not make it a significant event for American patriots.
The Japanese leader offered no apology or regret about the Pearl Harbor attack. The surprise attack cost 2,403 American lives and “awakened a sleeping giant” that brought the United States into the burgeoning World War II.
Barack Obama visited Hiroshima earlier this year for the anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb on the city. The bombing saved the lives of countless American soldiers and ultimately convinced Japan to surrender its failed attempt to defeat the Allied forces, effectively ending a long war.
The Pearl Harbor attack last 110 minutes, and it began when many on the base were still sleeping at 7:55 a.m.
A total of 2,335 American service members were killed in the bombings. Another 1,143 were wounded during the Pearl Harbor attack 75 years ago today.
Let’s honor the memories of those lost so long ago as all Americans should be doing today.
