Japan Shows Off Its Missile-Defense System

missle defense system is useless. Do japanese dare to let us give your missle defense system a final test with megaton bomb armed DF31?

When can you have enough courage to let us give you a test, then you can come to us and show off.

Because Japan has no real ICBM for testing, what kind of ICBM has be plan to defense? How do you test your system?
test by yourself, dare you !?

@Nihonjin1051: can you give some info about Type-11 which is replace the old type-81 missile system !? (range, speed of missile ...)

Missile defense is useless??? I'd rather take my chances, knock out a small number of missiles, than let 100% of all incoming munitions hit their targets with devastating effect. At present missile defense is not a perfect solution, some incoming munitions will get through, but why let them all go through unmolested? If you can shoot-down ten to prevent all 30 from hitting you, why not?!?

Great going Japan. With this China and Russia(together with their little stubborn ally North Korea) will be kept in check.:enjoy:

So Japan uses PAC-2 for air defense, PAC-3 for missile defense, SM-3 for all aspect defense. They'll be part of the SM-3 Block IIA program and a likely partner or buyer of the SM-6. Goodness Japan's looking good. On a related note, anyone know if Japan has a replacement for its PAC systems, especially the older PAC-2 for air defense (non-missile), or will upgrades be the preferred option. Also for PAC-3 are there any plan for a replacement for it. THAAD and Aegis Ashore could suffice in the missile defense role, are both very capable, and the US would be willing to sell such to Japan.
