What's new

Japan semiconductor industry only capable of 40nm process

This is crazy!!!

The United States has imposed the following penalties on Toshiba Group
1: The Japanese Police Department was ordered to arrest Erhe Lin, President of Toshiba Machinery Foundry, and Hiroshima Tanamura, President of Machine Tool Business, and sentenced to 10 years'imprisonment.
2: Closing Toshiba's factory in the United States
3: A 100% tariff on Toshiba products sold to the United States
4: As an alternative punishment to the previous one, Toshiba's exports to the United States were banned for five years.
5: A huge fine of 1 trillion yen was imposed on Toshiba, equivalent to $16 billion today.

In order to calm the anger of the United States, Japan has imposed severe penalties on Toshiba Group:
First, Japan's semiconductor industry will unconditionally share technology with American companies.
Second, Toshiba spent 100 million yen to publish a full-page apology advertisement in all major newspapers in the United States.
Thirdly, Japan Semiconductor Association invested 9 million US dollars to launch various relations lobbying in the US Congress, and this lobbying has become the most costly lobbying war in history.
Fourthly, the chairman and general manager of Toshiba Group resigned.
Fifthly, by an administrative order issued by the Ministry of Communications, Toshiba is prohibited from exporting any products to 14 countries for a period of one year.

It was all necessary! Japanese are like rabid dogs that must be kept under a leash by ANY foreign power. Let them grow too strong or let them loose and things go all awry in the Asian Continent.

China on the other hand is the future Master of the USA! The one meant to be the Master and the one meant to be the Dog all planned out by Heaven long ago...

Toshiba Machine bought Norwegian (Kongsberg) submarine propeller milling machines and intentionally re-sold them to the Soviets.

So what? USA intentionally sold advanced electronic chips and all kinds of other shit to China.

Japan used to be known as a futuristic country.

Decades ago, many people said Japan is a robotic country, or a country that will lead the world in robotic.

Autonomous driving car supposed to be invented and being popularized by Japan.

Food delivery robot is supposed to be a very Japanese thing, and should be a very common sight on the street of Tokyo.

Not just that, a robot to clean the street, park, building, house, etc.

Even Japan has a robot army.

To have all of that, Japan should be very strong in semiconductor and AI.
I feel like vomiting whenever someone says Japan is living in the future. That just tells me that person has no idea what they are talking about. Japan is not living in the future it is living in 2003.

China is by far more advanced than Japan in applying technology to every day life but I guess perceptions are slow to change, especially when there is a China Hate agenda orchestrated by the western media.

That is today.

But if you are living in 90 and early 2000, Japan felt like they are the future.

And there's assumption that Japan will enter a robotic era far earlier than others.

But of course, they failed in semiconductor, so they are stagnant.

As semiconductors are the basis of robot technology.

So what..maybe we should tell Somalia's allies to sell weapons to Al-Shabaab..and if Somalia gets upset at them then too bad.

Korean has even worse managers and engineers, so is India -- the most horrible in the world.

Japan managers consider relatively benevolent.

I guess one strong reason of Japan demise is US mandated Japan not to progress in semi conductor -- just like what US did to China,
Koreans are the worst lot, at least the Japs are still polite. You think Chinese managers suck, wait till you meet the Koreans, i can understand why they have some serious suicide issues. These buggers have a serious class hierarchy and bullying culture.

LG makes top of the line OLED panels. Some of the best in the world in fact
BO3 make good OLEDs too, w3 are talking about their work culture mate.
