Rape is not something tl be just assumed to be happening unreported in a place like Okinawa. It may go unreported in other places that have yet developed full standing media and police infrastructure. But Okinawa is fully developed.

But as expected, the number of cases we have is just those two.

I'd actually would raise hell (on the internet at least) if there was more evidence of more rape happeneing. But i haven't seen it. As contrary to pro-CCP hopes as it may be.

That's the one recent rape case in 2016 but not of a school girl. So we have 1995 and 2016. Both atrocious cases, but just two. So the argument that makes pretend that the bases are full of rape going on is just propaganda.

The current govenor ran on an anti-base platform. He won but with 55%. If anti-base sentiment was so strong, then the percentage should be much higher. If there was fewer accidents and fewer minor offenses and less noise, then the rote for anti-base candidates could be lower. But for the time being, its not so bad.
